The only thing I'd want from the SS Maul would be the light saber and the belt (maybe).

the inner robes (tunic) on the ssc maul are bulkier, like maul in the film. personaly, i plan to bash them together, using medi maul body and boots (and possibly the pants and outer robe) and everythgind else from the ssc maul.

I have 3 SSC Maul's, so I can spare some robes to try a swap and see what it does. The body bulk isn't the prominent oddity to me though, the neck is what does it. I think if his neck looked shorter it would help sell that the body is bulkier, but a long thing neck sells the idea that a body is thin and all.

I had to futz with the capes on both to make them look right :monkey1

I don't know where futzing got associated with imperfection. I can't imagine any figure not needing a little futzing. (Besides futzing is the greatest thing in the world). :D

Has nothing to do with imperfection, it's just getting something you own to look, sound and feel right or better to you. I don't know of any clothed figure I've just pulled from the box and stuck on a shelf.

Yeah... I guess its just a personal preference but I have to do something to every fig I get. (I think its the first stages to becoming a customizer starting to stir). :lol

I actually enjoy a mild amount of futzing. It makes the figure more "your's" and different from everyone else's. It is weird when you don't have too though, I remember in particular with the Medi Clones, I just pulled them out and...that was it. Everyone has their personal tastes though I guess.

I think thats taking things too literally. what i meant by not "futzing" out of the box was basically not having to undress the figure or water treatment the figure etc.

I think futzing is essential with every figure. I can't ever think of any figure I got and didn't do some adjustment to out of the box, not persay because it didn't look good out of the box, but the futzing is what makes it YOUR figure instead of just A figure, you tailor it to your liking and that's the fun of these figures.

I'm not sure that's the solution. The RAH body, while better for poseability, is quite skinny and with the elongated neck, gives Maul and overall mismatched representation of the film character. It's a cool looking figure, but based on all the images, Sideshow's is a better representation of Ray Park as Darth Maul. Still looking forward to adding this one to my Maul collection though.

The RAH body is a little skinny on Medi Maul and from the pics I've seen his neck does look a little long as well.He looks a lot less mismatched than SS Maul that is for sure. But as you stated Medi Maul he still looks great

Also,SS maul has no neck, and he is overall misproportioned in bad way.I heard some others say that SS maul has a thicker robe and costume than Medi Maul.I really can't see that at all. That is by far the worst error in judgement I've ever heard on these two figure's.

I saw a pic a few pages back with both Medi and SS Mauls side by side.If you don't see that Medi Maul is the best repesentation, then I really wouldn't consider arguing my point on the matter anymore.I'll just buy Medi Maul, post some wicked pics and be happy.:lol

Not a very fair image for comparison. When I have my Medicom Maul, I'll do something of my own, but SSC Maul can look much better than it does here.

come on sean, everything looks better when it's surrounded by a dark background.
