Geez,...so many people are quick to diss this version of Vadar. So many people throwing out "their opinion" on a figure that hasn't even been released yet. Some of you need to take your lips off the knob of SS and Hot Toys for real. To say definitively that your SS Vadar is better than this when this product isn't even out holds little merit.
I have one Medicom figure,...the ROTJ Boba Fett. I think he is awesome and very well done. There is no way the SS version can be better....it can be as good, but it won't be better. I always preferred the ROTJ red details on the suit as well. You people and your height issues within the scale are a bit obsessively ridiculous. He looks just fine next to Greedo, plus real people arent all the same height.
Enterbay might be assisting with this figure as well like than Han Solo from Medicom and that can only mean good things.
People are criticizing the head sculpt saying its too small,....geez, the sculpt is spot on as far as capturing that actor from ROTJ and I don't see any company topping that. If hot toys was going to do LED lightsabers they would have dome it with Luke. So, this may be the only Vadar with that feature released as well.
Personally, I'm getting this because I think it kicks *** and will be the best Vadar even after SS re releases theirs.

:clap:clap:clap :goodpost:
I agree with almost everything you are saying in regards to the critique, especially about the rotj fett that medicom pulled off so well. SSC boba has some nice points, but the wrist gauntlets are a major flaw, medicom's version = Flawless !!!
SSC vader could be better, you never know.

And so with this one; the boxes on his body don't light up... but they included a talking feature? :lol Is there anyone that want's a talking feature on a high-end figure? :huh

Agree boxes not lighting up is a big fail (don't really care whether saber does) as well as the talking feature. That just cheapens the whole thing, IMO.

The boxes not lighting up is a big fail?? What other version do they light up?

How can you possibly know how well done the talking feature is??

You don't care about the saber but its a big deal on the boxes?? ...wow...

Nobody can judge the audible feature until it is heard.

Well, I can judge it because I'm not concerned about the fidelity. It's just a feature I don't want and it means there's a button somewhere with maybe a visible seam that I'd find annoying. Even if they've managed to expertly hide the trigger, I just see no point to having a Vader figure that says "Impressive, most impressive", etc. Only figure I could see maybe wanting an audio component would be R2, but even then, it's not something that I'd consider to be a bonus.

In regards to lights, it's a fail because for $300.00, yeah, I expect working chest and belt lights. It would be easy enough to do and make the figure appear more movie accurate. It certainly looks fantastic on the Medi C-3PO/R2D2 and there's no reason they couldn't have done something similar with Vader.

I don't care about the saber lighting up because one of the reasons HT didn't include that feature with the upcoming Bespin Luke is because they said it distorted the size of the hilt. I'd rather skip it lighting up and have a proper to-scale saber prop than an out-of-scale gimmick.

Lastly, for me it comes down to cost and scale. I've just started getting some of these figures and had to decide on either SSC/HT or Medi, as I won't be getting doubles and they'll all be displayed together. A Medi Vader that is the same height as a Bespin Luke would bother me, even if I appreciate it may not bother you. If the new Vader that SSC releases this year or next is deeply flawed, I'll be the first to admit it and won't pick it up. For the price of these figures, they need to be really good to justify it and I'm by no means a completest or feel I have to pick up a figure just because it's the only one in circulation.

I was straddling the fence as to whether our not top pick up....when it comes down to it, its essentially the same figure with some improvements, like the gloves, the paint on the face, resculpted chest armour, plus a glowing lightsaber etc, but I don't know of I can justify posting 300.... More than a dx hot toys, for a medicom....i hope they improved the construction of the body since when they first came out, there were "peeling" joints...plus as shown in the picture, which is probably a mocked up rotj proto, the pleather has already started detetiorating...i may skip this since I essentially have the same figure, or get this at minimum ost

Is the height defenatly determined?I have a feeling medicom is gonna fix that issue.isn't there jack sparrow in scale with hot toys figures?

Just checked the website and Bespin Luke is 304.8 mm tall while Vader is 320.04 mm, so maybe not too bad or even in scale? Not sure what Vader's exact height should be in relation to Luke but have to admit I expected him to be closer to 304 than 320. Vader still carries a Sideshow disclaimer advising it's not in the same scale, though, so not sure what to make of it.

well, the helmet looks way better on this version than the ss. but i simply cannot justify paying the asking price. it's close to pf prices, and that's just ridiculous for a 1/6 figure. medicom are pricing themselves out of the market.

From the 6'9" full size he should be 13.6-13.78" in sixth scale which is between 345-350 mm

The Medicom is still way undersized by about 2-3 cm.

The old Medicom versus the unreleased Marmit - the difference still seems to stand even with the new one - looking at it, their Vader is just about the size as Luke should be (roughly put):

Isn't that the whole point of a forum? Give your opinion about something? :peace

Does size really matter?a lot of great figures are not correct in scale.hot toys hellboy for example is not in scale.he stands the same height as abe sapian.does it look strange?no it is fine.and let's not forget the new hot toys predators.they are off compared to royce.and they look fine.as long as vader stands a bit taller than hot toys luke it will look fine.

People have a tendency to ridicule Medicom for its size in these boards while ignoring or sugar-talking glaring size/scale inaccuracies in HT or Sideshow figures.
But, to be fair, Medicom's Vader's problems are not just height, but the overall lack of "big-ness". I have the ROTJ Vader, and it has a very slight build that goes beyond the lack of height. As a stand alone piece it's a great figure, just like Medicom's alien, but it really doesn't work with other figures. That's fine by me, I like it as it is, but for most it is just too much of a difference.

Size may not matter but to me presence matters. And a puny Vader to me is no Vader at all. The only way I'd display this figure would be on its own :)

That is the way to go with this one, IMHO.
Oh, and I never had any peeling of the suit, it must be something to do with climate.

There Maul was a stunning and flawless figure...I will definitely disagree there. Its up there with rots Anakin and rotj fett, truly solid figure.

The only thing I really liked on that one was the outer robe and the headsculpt. But body proportions were terrible (huge head and thin body) and BOTH shoulders broke off just manipulating him twice. Such disappointment!

My Maul's hip broke with just the gentlest of pressure. I had read how fragile they were and tried to just barely move my Maul's hip and it just snapped off. I have a bunch of Medicom figures that are basically stuck in the pose there were put in out of the box for this very reason.
