My God...what happened? Honestly that's one of the most ridiculous figures I've ever seen. Looks like $20 Hasbro to me. Sr. looks good, if it were $65 to $75 range, but Indy...just awful for the price they charge.

I never thought I'd say this about a Medicom action figure (personal bias about the boy body aside), but I think it's worse than Hasbro's. He looks like a Robot Chicken Indy. While they did a fairly decent job of capturing Harrison's likeness, to be honest, it's more Solo than Indy (see the first close-up on the left). The clothes look like ill-fit Ken clothes, the whip is attrocious and the hat......WTF?! Did they steal the mold from MEGO Freddy?

If you take Hasbro's whip-action head and put it on a beefier Hasbro G.I. Joe body (I used the Time Life Normandy Ranger) to beef him up a bit and get rid of the whip aka "self pleasuring" feature, take the clothes from the talking Indy and dress him out appropriately, I'd say Hasbro's beats it and at $50 ($20 for whip Indy, $20 for talking Indy and $10 for nude GI Joe body), essentially 1/4 of the price and just a little effort!

The Henry Sr. sculpt rocks though, but Connery's a very large man in real life and this figure won't be to scale with anything. It's just not worth the $180. Usually the drawback for me for Medicom are the fragile and out of scale bodies. But this line just misses all the marks. It's a shame.

On a positive note, Sideshow has charged me for my Medicom RAH Henry Sr., so it should be shipping today or tomorrow. And I think it'll be worth the $80 with Rewards Points. :chew

He'll be awfully lonely waiting for Sideshow to actually ship their Junior, though. :monkey2

So, now I'll have a nice 1:6 Ark, Henry Sr, and even a 1:4 Crystal Skull... but no nice 1:6 Indy himself. :nono :duh

It'll happen... Patience.

But how will you pose Sr. with Jr.? The size discrepancy would really throw it off unless you get a 1/6 sidecar.

Tada! :rock :rock :rock

(And I plan to customize one of my extra SSC Indy's into a TLC version for the motorcycle w/ sidecar)

Jones Sr still looks pretty good. Maybe someday I'll go back and get him but that Indy really sucks. Thats as bad a figure as I've seen.

Niccccccccccccccccccccccce. Definitely want pictures of that.

Couldn't agree more Josh. For that price tag?...:horror

Exactly! If that was Hasbro price I'd say its pretty good but not for what medicom charges. People are freaking out over the Clone Helm and how "awful" that is but to me this is way worse than that.

For what you get, I'd have to agree that $80 is more in the appropriate price range. I'm saving my Rewards Points for Spooktacular though. I have a feeling I'm gonna need them. But I see these guys going up for giftcard status sooner than later, as are most of Medicom's recent releases, so if I want to pick up a Henry later, I can always go that route.

Cancelled my pre-order for Medi-Indy...it looked VERY impressive with the proto and that head sculpt was great....but the final product looks not much better than Hasbro's. Can't say I'm a little disappointed but OH WELL.

Now to wait for Sideshow's.

Sorry, but I have to say this. Medicom's Indy is a great deal better than the Hasbro one. I have both and there is NO comparison. My pictures suck. I know that, but come on. It's getting silly.

The fact that comparisons are even being made at all says it all, though. Because here is the perspective:

Hasbro Indy: Mass-Market toy for $20
Medicom Indy: Direct-Market collectible for $150

Sure, it's better than Hasbro's... but 7x and $130 better?? Many of us don't think so. And that Medicom's looks much more like a TOY than a 1/6 collectible is a big part of the problem.

Now, consider that even Sideshow's (eventual) Indy will still be $60 less than Medicom's and you can see why everyone is scratching their heads over this figure.

But if you're happy with it, that's awesome and all that matters. :duff

(raises hand) :gun uh....I actually think Hasbro's looks better. Which given the cost and Medicom's history, is a shame, definitely not "silly," and something I never thought I'd read myself type....

Sorry but I've got both Hasbro figures and the Medicom, and the Medicom is a class ahead of the Hasbro. I agree, it's not good enough, but there's no comparison between them. The Hasbros are crude toys (fun, but crude) while the Medicom has the makings of a decent figure. Sadly for the price you should get more than the "makings" of a good figure. If I have time I'll see over the weekend whether it'll fit on a decent body. I'm not optimistic as it's so small and slight.

Let me start out by saying I really wanted this figure to spank the Sideshow Indy. I really did. I thought it would too. Sadly...

For the price point, you simply don't get what you deserve. That thing is not worth $180, no way, no how. I think Josh will agree with me that it isn't even worth $100. You get the RAH body which is not only the most fragile body in 1:6 scale, but I swear it is more in ratio to that of a teenage boy than a fully grown man, the poorly tailored clothes (highwater pants, bigass 70's buttons and a jacket who's collar won't even sit down and whose zipper would take two hands to pull up!), the whip that looks more like fraying wicker than the leather bullwhip it's supposed to represent and the MEGO Freddy hat. The only thing they got right is the face, but again, it looks more like a Han Solo, than an Indiana Jones. Their older Indy is a smidgen better, but still no where near worth the price point either. It's really a shame when the supporting cast (Henry Sr. & Young Indy) get better quality action figure than the main hero of the film.

As I said before, the Medicom looks more like something Robot Chicken would toss together for a quick 45sec skit than something Medicom put out. I don't even see how this passed their QC either. If I was Akashi-san, I would've sent it back with a reference photo of Sideshow's Indy, pink slips and a Wakasashi. When you compare what you get for what you pay, $180 to $20, crude or not, Hasbro comes out on top in this one. IMO anyway.

Yep. I have this one and I agree. Put a nice paint job on it and at the very least it'll look as good as Medi's if not better.
