Medicom RAH Alien 2008 (Sideshow)

Decent. But the detail is too soft, and it comes off looking more like a man in a rubber suit , then a scary psycho space rapist. Pass for me....like every other Alien figure made post McF...

Am I the only person who wants a non accurate Alien? I want an Alien that looks like how an Alien would really look....not a guy in a suit.

Well, a guy in a suit defined the look of the ALIEN, and most folks want a figure of the ALIEN as accurrate to the film as possible, so having a figure look that way would be spot on. HT's made plenty of alien figures that look like living creatures, when it comes to the original design I think most folks want it to look as much like on screen as possible.

Once they start making accurate AvP-R figures.....that'll teach people that accuracy isnt always better.

No one's saying they always want accurrate. It's about what matters to each person.

For a large ammount of fans, the first film in the Aliens and Predator franchises left the biggest mark on them, they fell in love with the respective creature designs and their presence on screen, leaving a desire for collectibles to be as accurrate to those designs as possible.

Often with sequels, there's a desire even at the film level for the designs to be more like the originals, so when companies take liberties and just make a nice looking product that may not be 100% accurrate, that's ok. I'm still bothered that the Hot Toys ALIENS figure isn't very accurrate, but they at least made a badass looking figure so I'm happy with how it turned out, but still wishing HT'd make an accurrate ALIENS figure. I'm getting Medicom ALIEN because I have little faith a Hot Toys figure would be as faithful to Giger's design and the film look of the ALIEN, and that's what I'm most interested in for this rendition, accurracy, not scale or meshing with my collection, just the best looking and made figure, and under 24", I'm starting to have regrets about buying the NECA one, it's huge.

how would you know how a real alien looks? maybe real aliens look like a guy in a suit.

I guess the Alien figures arent skinny enough for me. Bejio....forgot his name, the actor who played the alien was very skinny....and I dont know, none of these figures scream "THE ALIEN"....but more like rubber man in a suit. Eh.

I can't imagine much skinnier than this, it wouldn't even look imposing at that point, and the figure looks as skinny as the guy in the suit did to me.

Ya, at one time I might not have cared, but after seeing how nice the fingers together looks on the NECA figure in a similar hand pose, it really does make it look more creature like.

I liked Sabres new pics too. a couple of years ago, I told myself I would never pay $150 for an "action figure." Now, I can't believe that I am considering paying almost $200 for the medicom. will we be paying $500 for a damn rubber toy soon? HOLY Smokes!

Its just too stiff....mabye thats what makes it look chubbier. I liked that McF had a pose to it, that made it look...well, imposing. I dont like the still nature of these recent "accurate" Alien aliens.

Gotcha. Posing can make it look more alive for sure, but that's where ALIENS and later film based figures are good, the creature got more movement after the first film, but in ALIEN, it was like a robot, very stiff movement, minmal flexing and all.

The Alien did move slow...but yet it was creepy, and smooth rather then stiff.

I have to be selfish when it comes to figs having articulation/posibility. Yep it does have the rubber suit ummm thingy. But it's Medicom, right?

I still love it guys... So I can final purchase it since it will be released in Feb-March '09(?). Get to save some $$$. Sorry anways I guess I can't pose it like this pics .
