Sounds like the ending is quite good then, or for a better word - fitting?

I've said from the begging, i like the design of Venom Snake so i doubt i'll get rid, might update some parts if Hot Toys ever release one

The ending is GOOD, that much I'll say. It explains some of what's going on. However, the main plot is just plain stupid and Kojima found a way to create a new excuse for everything instead of nanomachines. Plus the flat out lie about taboo themes is an unforgivable marketing stunt. Silent Hill makes the "taboo" themes of this game look like an episode of Scooby Doo. :slap

As for being "fitting", I dunno. Fitting to this story at least. It has no place in the established canon. It's clear that Kojima wrote this on a McDonalds' tissue paper while having lunch. No dept or meaning at all.

Worst part is, once the "big twist" is revealed, people will definitely forget about this game faster than MGS4. Yes, MGS4 was a SUPERIOR MGS game than this. Unbelievable!

I was gonna ask if there were nanomachines involved, guess not :lol this isn't really the way the series should have ended though, such a shame.

Well yes and no. Just replace the word "nanomachines" with "some new crap I pulled out of my ass that I think you should take it seriously, despite being utterly ridiculous".

For a better experience, go play MGS1, 2, and 3 again. Or Rising. Or heck, just buy that damn Arkham Knight DLC. :lol

Funny how Pturtle predicted that most people will hate the ending, but I LOVED it! It's the main story that I can't sanction.

I'm only on mission 12 or something I've been rinsing the side mission in between. Just captured Quiet and D-Dog is now big.

So far nothing has happened (literally)

I just got to Africa, I'd say the environment is quite drab judging from the first mission.

The story isn't what annoys me so far more the utter lack of it. Why does BigBoss never talk, seriously? It just doesn't make sense in most moments. And there isn't any of that fancy face acting in those moments either. Also there's barely any lines in the game from anyone, compared to previous games anyway. where there would have been extensive codec calls in previous games there's not even an acknowledgment.

In the Emmerick mission
Big Boss doesn't acknowledge the mammal pod at all. It really bothers me that stuff. He doesn't care, it's like he doesn't have anything to so with the story. Hopefully it gets better.

While you are not wrong I will say that particular scene in Hueys mission will get explained... To a degree. But once it does it opens a whole new bag of problems and then simply never answers them.

MGSV has tons of story problems. Even more so than MGS4. The only good parts were the opening and ending. Don't bother with what's going on in-between. :lol

The opening was so weird tho. Why could no one see him under a damn cot? And that guy grabbing your foot and getting drug away screaming for you to help him and the guy that kills him just never looks to see who he was talking to? Snake really is a Phantom in this game.

To be honest, MGS4 has a much more rewarding story than this piece of ****... I'll even go as far and say Peace Walker is far better. The stupid twist... I ****ing hate it... it destroys any replay value.

Well, I'm a bit happy that it wasn't just a straight forward story like Peace Walker's. In a sense, the ending showed a necessary transformation of Big Boss' persona. He's no longer the hero he was in MGS 3 and Peace Walker. Instead, he has turned into a truly evil man, who had no qualms about sacrificing an entire hospital of innocent people just to save his sorry ass. And not only that, but he robbed another man (the Medic) of his freedom, and turned him into a doppelganger.

But, what's truly disappointing about the ending, is that I wasn't actually playing as Big Boss. This game was supposed to show us his slow (keyword: slow) transformation into a "demon". His horn was supposed to grow as we progressed through the story, but there wasn't anything like that. I don't give a damn about Medic Snake and his ordeals. I mean, Big Boss probably tranqued this guy next to a porto-potty and fultoned him back to Mother Base in PW. Who cares about this dude, and why would you want to center a game around him? All in all, I felt like Kojima wasted my time with MGS V.

I'm glad I watched this on twitch instead of playing it. I would have threw the game in the trash out of anger.
