Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Just watched the trailer and honestly im a little disappointed, It didn't wow me like every other MGS trailer ive ever seen. Was too short!

It doesn't feel like MGS either. I think having something familiar like David Hayters voice would have helped out. On the voice, hearing Keifer kind of takes me out of it. His voice is too recognisable, it doesn't help that he's using his normal voice either.

The gameplay does look great, but too Assassins Creed for my taste. Open world games bore me, Arkham City had it perfect but this looks more like RedDead, which i couldn't finish.

yup same guy. If Emmerich VA s the same then this is just silly!

:goodpost::exactly::lecture

To me, this looks like it was a MGS clone done in open world. It's too far removed to what even makes it a MGS game. And yeah, Kiefer's voice coming out of Big Boss's head does not sound right at all. I don't know how anyone can appreciate it...

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Was this mentioned all ready seem kaz has the same VA from peacewalker anyone confirm this.
cant figure out with the new trailer since he sounds so gritty but on the first one where he lies beside snake in the hospital he sounds like Robin Atkin Downes

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

well well well

Graphics are insanely good. Everything else looks ok. Doesn't feel like a MGS game at all. Will have to phone home the verdict once i've played it but it's pretty much what i was expecting except with really, really good graphics.

Kiefer isn't a good Snake or a Bad, It's just weird. It's going to take a lot to get used to him as Snake. Don't really seem the point either if these are closing his saga.

I'm not disappointed because i wasn't expecting it to be great but i've definitely crossed the line of not really bothered anymore, which is a shame but inevitable :monkey2

Long Live Solid Snake. Always missed never forgotten

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Just saw the trailer of Far Cry 4: The Phantom Pain. That is all.

Good point. I'm not digging it at all. Outside of the game's engine, it's riddled with flaws.

Hayter should count his blessing that he isn't a part of this ****.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm still thinking about this trailer. Looks absolutely nothing like MGS. More like a mash-up of Red Dead Redemption and Far Cry.

Ocelot doesn't even sound or look like himself. And is that "Quiet" chick supposed to be Sniper Wolf?

Ugh does every character need to be a throw back to old characters? Kojima's stealing of former ideas is getting tiresome.

They completely ****ed up Ocelot. Why does he appear older than Big Boss?

Too bad only the positive feedback will be mentioned on the KP Podcast (which is back btw).

I never even guessed that the old man was Ocelot, until the caption with his name showed up :lol. That trailer just too weird for me to take seriously as another MGS title.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Thank god Payton is gone.

That guy was a douche :slap. Because of him, MGS 4 was westernized to cater to FPS fans, and nanomachines were used lazily as a cop-out to explain all of the mysteries of the series. The fail is just too much to handle.

On another note, I'm not impressed by what I saw in this trailer. From a technical standpoint, I got the impression of "been there, done that". It looks too much like RDR, Assassin's Creed, and Far Cry mixed together in some sort of soup. I wonder if there's anything truly revolutionary about this game aside from the graphics of the Fox Engine.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Fox Engine is wasted on this.

Jump ship and just do MSX remakes and end the series officially.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So what's the scoop? Are we seeing this for PS3 at all? Or is this next gen only?
