Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

What did he say? I can't see the link since my work PC blocks gaming sites.

""Kojima: Metal Gear Solid 5 ‘betrayal’ might be a good thing

After a half hour gameplay showing at TGS last week, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s prologue Ground Zeroes has attracted ire from a section of fans who are worried that certain elements of gameplay, such as the introduction of regenerating health, are too far removed from the series’ previous iterations. Hideo Kojima took to Twitter to respond.

“Unlike those old days where creators devote themselves creating game in the cell, today’s game development is more open to public,” Kojima tweeted. “We try to create detailed directions by doing focus test repeatedly w[ith] users from the world.

“This is one of the intentions founding LA studio,” he continued. “Although, you can’t expect excitement by providing what all users wished. Betrayal in good way w/i acceptable limits is needed. Because game is entertainment. But as long as it is an interactive, we need to adjust controls & systems reflected to the time we live today.”

Making changes to a long-running and well-loved series is always going to be difficult – it’s impossible to please everyone. But innovation is healthy for any series, and it’s certainly too early too be criticising the choices made. By now, Metal Gear fans should have a bit of faith in Kojima.""

I have utter faith that he's going to **** the bed with MGS V. I just can't believe this is going to be a good thing for MGS. Maybe for casual gamers but this destroys the fabric of what MGS is. I know it needs to evolve but damn, it's just another run of the mill game with regenerating health and now tagging. Kojima is dedicated to make this an easier and easier "stealth" game.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I can't stop laughing, (and crying), at how dreadful the 'kept you waiting, huh?' is delivered.

SO fast!

keptyouwaitinghuh

:(

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think that's the only line he delivered with feeling, It was the one line it's giving me a little hope for the rest of his performance.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Seriously, I'll play it on mute if there are no japanese audio options.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I have a feeling, that this is all in Kojima's master plan to finally leave Metal Gear Solid behind. He probably thought, "They won't stop liking MGS, so I'll give them Kiefer Sutherland. Mwha ha hah ha" :rotfl.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

That's probably a logical theory :lol he's been hostage 10 years after he wanted to leave originally.
