Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I would never toss David Hayter away like some disposable camera. David, I'll treat you better than Konami ever would.

I think that would probably be more respectful than what they actually did to him. He had some Konami rep tell him, not even anyone with Koji Pro that I know of.

Stop being pessimistic about the members here mister.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm still not buying that "david is gone" thing.. i keep on thinking this is just a ploy for the fans to talk about the game as some of you guys have said..... weve sen kojima pull crazy stunts before so why would he stop now.. I dunno..i'v got a sneaky feeling this is just one of his games...... lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I don't know why he would generate all this heat just for him to turn around a pull a "gotcha!"

He's out of touch and Hollywood now.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It could just be for people to talk about it.. I mean look at it, the issue about david not being cast has always been talked about everywhere all over and over (specially whenever a new MGSV related stuff pops up).. it just wont die down cause people cant stand the fact that after all those years david is just gone just like that. No matter how negative the feedback from hardcore fans is.. people still discuss the game and i believe thats what they want the people to do.. talk about whats gonna happen next! bad publicity is still publicity as they say.... I wont be even surprised if we find out eventually david will be back for MGS6 as SS and MGS5 was just a stepping stone to seperate 2 snakes in the audiences perspective...

As you guys have said this could go 2 ways . it's either a clever marketing ploy or just a pathetic D*ck move by them hahahah!

It's definitely this. People want Kojima dead now so I don't think Kojima would do this as a ploy.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hahah! I feel you bro! Id really be disappointed if indeed it was! Just thinking about seeing a trailer someday that will have a solid snake return and have David say the quotes "kept you waiting huh?" makes me want to jump trough time and see that moment already hahaha! That would be.. (sorry for the word) EPIC!!

Don't forget, Big Boss said that first in terms of the timeline >_>

Even if this was a ploy, people are still going to hate him because he's ****ed with us for this long up until the game release.

whatever you say guy

I think Keifer sounded good as well, check out the direct feed gameplay from tgs, it looks way better than what was shown.

Plissken, what did you think of Kiefer? Was it as bad as you thought it would be? Worse?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Of course there is also the matter of the timeline heading towards Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2, so Big Boss will meet Solid Snake soon, hence no Hayter. I mean Solid should show up again in the game after. A remake of the first game wouldn't surprise me, even.
If that's not the case though, and Konami is being the usuall incompetent dimwits they always are and they just dropped Hayter just like that, then **** em.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think Hayter is done with this franchise. I can't see him taking another Konami job. As much as I hate for that to happen, that's what I would do in that position. But who knows, he loves the fans so maybe he'll do it strictly on us.

And how things have panned out the last few years, I don't see the next game being anything but another Big Boss stroking.

It would suck if he didn’t come back as Solid, but his voice in Peace Walker left a bad taste with a lot of fans. I think if he was great in that game like he was in MGS1 there would have been an even bigger uproar over his departure even though, I’m pretty sure he is coming back.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Kojima might not want him back completely, with the choice of Sutherland I wouldn't rule it out.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I didn't say you couldn't be pessimistic I only said that some of you ARE in fact being pessimistic. Read brah....

I like how you never even participate in any of the discussions, but then randomly decide to pop in now and again to troll :dunno

Kojima shot himself in the foot. If Sutherland proves to be a bad choice professionally (and like I said, he won't prioritize MGS over his other projects), Kojima might find himself crawling back to Hayter in vain. If that day ever comes, I hope that David tells Konami to STFU.

As much as I would want him to return, I'd rather have this franchise ****ed more than it already is. Give a big **** you to Kojima.
