I really hope Hayter doesn't say anything too scathing towards Konami/Kojima. I think he's taken what's happened so far very well, with a few innocent jabs here and there.

If he goes crazy in this interview, it'll make him look bad as well as destroy any possibility of him coming back.
I only say this cause of his tweet

I actually hope he tears that hypocrite a new *** hole.

I suspect he will take a few jabs but not say anything too crazy, but he should give us some more detail on what happened, we've already heard he had diner with a Konami representative and was told he wasn't needed for this game.

We have been expecting that Hideo Kojima might not be making another MGS title now and that Metal Gear Solid 5 could be the last in the series – he has insisted that he wants to move on from it previously. However, the industry veteran isn’t quite done yet with the story of Snake.

Two important things were confirmed by him recently; one is that MGS 5 will not be the end of the series, and the second is that the next Metal Gear Solid game might have a different theme.

He was interviewed by 4Gamer recently where he was asked about the future of the game. The series creator explained that since all the MGS games depict a period in which America is at its full might and power, the idea of a strong America is now changing. This could be the reason why the next Metal Gear Solid game might involve a completely different theme.

More importantly, he iterated that Metal Gear Solid 5 was not the end.

So what could be the next Metal Gear Solid game revolve around? Maybe a switch of political power or different take on the military that is in control? What do you think about the plot that Kojima has in his mind for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots?

Yeah it's not very clear. The themes in MGS don't really have anything to do with America.

I also don't see how any of the games can be set when America isn't a superpower unless it goes way back in the past or future with characters who ain't Snake

Maybe in the future they will develop some sort of technology that allows you to travel threw your nanomachines and you will play as an ancestor of Snake during the Revolutionary war. It will be an open world sandbox game where you have to assassinate targets like in the Renegade Threat mission from GZ. It will get just above decent reviews from actual review sites but mediocre reviews from players.

I read that it should be up some time by Wednesday...

I don't expect too much from this interview, aside from David discussing about his past experiences with MGS and matters concerning his firing. I think if he was returning to the series, he'd choose a big media outlet to announce it - like IGN or Gamespot; not some site run by bloggers :dunno.

Yeah, I don't think we will be getting anything new out of this interview.

So the wall knocking could be returning after all, makes me think that another purpose of GZ was to see how would the fans react to these changes, to know whether if it's ok to make these changes to the game or bring back features.

I mentioned it in my short review in this thread, but I just can't get used to Kiefer as Snake/Big Boss. There's like an apparent disconnect - as if Kiefer's doing a voice over of David Hayter's work. Sort of like those fan-made dubs of popular animes that people upload to YouTube. It just doesn't seem real to me.

I felt the exact opposite, maybe I was already warmed up for Kiefer, but I loved his voice from the moment I started the game, in fact I can no longer see Big Boss and Snake as the same person anymore, so Kojima succeded in that regard, BUT if I ever hear Kiefer doing Solid Snake I will go ape **** :lol I just can't fathom that.

Just wait, I'm sure there is a load of Snake raped one liners in TPP.

Deja Vu didnt bother you in that regard?

I nearly cried when I first heard "kept you waiting, huh?" in the GZ trailer, and it wasn't voiced by David :crying

I'm not actually sure... but, didn't Kiefer voice Snake in the Deja Vu mission? :lol

But, regardless of how any of us feel about Kiefer's Big Boss, I think he was probably a risky investment in this franchise. I'm not sure how committed he is to MGS, but depending on whatever type of film projects he's involved with (or even his experiences in voicing Big Boss), he might not want to return for a second game.

Oh I forgot about that, but It's just a pack of skins, a little gimmick completely untied to everything, so no it doesn't bother me, I'm talking seeing "Kiefer Sutherland as Solid Snake" in the credits and seeing Kiefs facecaps and hearing his voice come out of the character.

Yeah that occurred to me too, I hope he falls in love with the franchise and comes back, just not as Solid.

I more meant the suposed flash backs that were certainly not voiced by David Hayter.
