I cant believe it'll be almost 4 years from first hearing about the game its release date. Honestly, whats the point in teasing us that early? And from what we first saw of Ground Zeroes, animations, models etc, it looked quite finished.

Anyway heres the interview where koji reveals the release date.

This is a quote which shows me Kojima has eliminated characteristics of the Solid Snake we love

"Snake wont be making spontaneous comments or flirting with women. In fact he wont talk much at all, its the characters around him that will expand the story"

I wonder how much the whole "this will be my last Metal Gear game" will actually hold true. I wouldn't mind it at all since at least it will stop him from continually exhausting Big Boss's story.

We had a glimpse in the Deja Vu Mission... It was horrific

To be fair that wasnt made by Kojima. Im all in for one as long as its like REmake

Although he didn't make TT, he is the reason why the TT came out the way it did. I remember reading one of the interviews for the game where he (or was it the director of the remake) said that the director originally made the cutscenes for TT as close to the PS1 game. However, Hideo told the director to make it more flashy rather than copying the original to a T. The director redid the cutscenes afterwards.

Give me a MG1&2 remake and call it a day, even at that, it would still be one of the best series ever created

Go out somewhat on top, let Kojima start doing something else with his life, he'll never be known as anything other than the creator of MGS no matter what he does after MGS anyways

That's true, but I don't hold it in the highest regard anymore since we've gotten more rotten eggs in the series than good ones.

Me either, but it still has it's redeemers which arguably make up for the rest

MGS1-3 is the best trilogy in modern videogaming imo

Mass effect is good, I guess it depends on what the games do it for an individual

The first 3 MGS' had a big impact on what I like in video games etc so they'll always hold that spot for me

I have the mass effect trilogy sitting there for the xbox 360, played the first one a bit and got fed up and never went back.
Have to admit, I am really looking forward to Phantom Pain now, if only it would arrive sooner.
