Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

I thought TDK really did build on everything from Batman Begins beautifully? I guess other than the Bat voice which I'm a fan of, what issues did you have with his character in TDK?

His fighting style was fine to me, the editing was better than most superhero films with the exception of Joker crashing Dent's party, and yea, I did prefer Begins' gritty Blade Runner setting. Still, I don't see how people can overlook the quality writing, cinematography, well crafted practically action sequences that are rare in the superhero genre because of a voice and fighting style.

With Batman as a character, none I think, only superficial complaints like voice, fighting and costume, but I think it was pretty spot on on the Batman character, the problem is that it was completely overshadowed by Joker, maybe that's a good thing, maybe that speaks of how great Joker was, dunno, but TDK does have quite an amount of things I dislike that I completely forget about the moment the Joker is on the screen.

That's probably the most honest opinion I've read on the Internet about someone's dislike for the TDK :lol

I can't wait for Baffleck, if the rumors are true, he'll be the best live-action Batman so far.

Btw, why do MGS threads always turn into Batman threads?

To be frank, I think Burton Batman and the first two Nolan films are overrated in their own ways. Everyone praises Heath for being the perfect Joker, everyone praises Keaton for being the best Batman. Everyone thinks 1989 is the best Batman film, everyone thinks TDK is the best Batman film. Both eras have their strong points, their weak points, and something the other may lack. Keaton is a good Batman but you can't ignore how he kills left and right, much like how you can't ignore Bale's voice (though I hear it's Nolan's fault entirely), who I find a good Batman at times; I would take Keaton over Bale though, but Bale still has some points like getting his physique, and some of his moments. I like 1989 because it is entertaining and engaging, I like TDK because it is tense and engaging. I dislike 1989 for Gordon but love Gary Oldman as Gordon. I dislike TDK (Really the trilogy as a whole) for being long, but I quite like 1989's length, it's fine enough. But I don't think we'll all ever agree on something :lol there's something in both TDK and 1989 that really keeps me from preferring one over the other, be it some great moments or something that just bugs the hell out of me. Begins I found to be ok, it's action scenes suck though, but I tolerated Rachel Dawes more in that movie at least.

I think we've all agreed that Returns is quite a mess, especially since it really feels too much like a Burton film instead of a Batman film, or rather, an equally great mesh of Burton and Batman like 1989 was. I can take Returns for being decent, and the last good Batman film before WB reared their heads in to make everything child friendly till Nolan came in. That said I only like Nolan for Batman, Memento (which can be way too hard to follow at times) and Inception, everything else I could care less about.

And Gaspar, yeah, audiences today are pretty stupid :lol Cannot disagree there!

I definitely think he'll be the definitive live action Batman. It's crazy how I was one of many who thought his casting was bad based on his name alone, but he's really the perfect actor to play Batman/Bruce Wayne. I doubt I will like him more than Bale's version though, I just prefer the more grounded, vulnerable versions of comic book characters. I'm actually not even really a Batman fan, in fact, I kind of hate him because he's borderline perfect, he knows everything. People say Superman sucks because he's hard to relate too, but I always thought that about Batman. It's kind of why I like Hugh Jackman's take on Wolverine more than the comicbook version, he's just more relatable, although I do agree with you that he is a bit too soft.

I can understand your point, you're not a big comicbook fan in general right? Personally I like all takes on Superheroes, I don't mind if they're a departure of the original source as long as they're good, if I wanted a verbatim translation I'd just read the comics.

Yeah, it's pretty much what you're in the mood for, I can't deny the Burton Batman films are pure eye candy too, so that's a big plus, other than Begins, the rest of the Nolan trilogy just looks like generic Nolan movies.

Both Burton and Nolan did a good service to comicbook movies, they both took the material seriously, I'm starting to get tired of the Marvel formula, "oh look, I'm a superhero, what a ridiculous situation I'm in tee-hee, let me make a pun about it to show I'm very self aware and fun lmao", that **** is starting to sound more disrespectful to me than the "dark and gritty" meme.

I am, I've just always been more of a Marvel guys. I never read much Superman and Batman growing up, everything know from them are from their animated shows and movies. But even when it comes to Marvel films, I prefer a great film that takes liberties with the source material over an okay movie that's faithful the comics.

I'll take the dark gritty stuff over what Marvel is currently doing any day. I've always found Marvel's formula to be a bit disrespectful to the source material, they seem to take these characters as jokes just because that's much easier than coming up with good explanation on why Hawkeye shoots bow arrows. That's why Iron Man 1 will always be my favorite Marvel movie, it did a great job showing us in detail why he became Iron Man, and everything made sense.

Probably is...but...why would they make a shark in the game's code? Among other things...like why Kojima retweeted it and its meaning

It's fake. If it was real, Kojima would've tweeted it himself or shown a video, and not retweet some guy's post about it. As for the game code, there's even MGS V hentai with 3D models...... P_A showed those to me :ohbfrank:.

Anyways, Kojima's been back on Twitter for a while now. Seems like the NDA lock on his Internet access is finally over. I wonder if he's finished work with MGS V now.

The hentai doesn't surprise me considering Quiet....P_A would know of course!

Premise 1: Gaspar is from Mexico.
Premise 2: People from Mexico are fluent in Spanish.
Conclusion 1: Gaspar is fluent in Spanish (P1, P2)

Premise 3: The Tweet was written in Spanish.
Conclusion 1: Gaspar is fluent in Spanish.
Premise 5: Anyone who is fluent in Spanish is able to read understand Tweets that are written in Spanish.
Conclusion 2: Gaspar understood the Tweet (P3, C1, P5)

Therefore, we can logically conclude that Gaspar knows what he's talking about. AT LEAST, in this case.
