Tony Mei ruining Mezco for everybody again...

I’m surprised that Tony still went with the same gloves as the tiger stripe . I’m not feeling this custom this time

Neither, but we should remember that this is just a work in progress. Hopefully the version he does with the brown figure as a base will be nicer.

Hmmm, nope... I hope this doesn't sound mean, but it looks too amateur. You feel it's a custom.
I'm the first one to criticize Mezco when they ****** up, or when they go cheap, but so far they have never delivered a figure that looks semi-professional or amateur. Sometimes they failed (Harley Quinn), sometimes the material they used felt cheap for the price they charged, but all in all, it has always looked professional.
I'm all for the good customs, but not when they look amateur, not when you feel it's not professional. This figure screams "custom".

The material he used doesn't look good... The Mezco version, even with the modern choices they made, looks professional. I will say though, removing the shoulders' pads looks like it could have looked better than with shoulders' pads. But as it is, comparing both, the Mezco version is miles better for me.

I've seen custom heads for Mezcos, jackets, entire customs, but so far I'm not pleased with what I'm seeing. They all lack the professional touch, except the Superman head, but even on that one, the Mezco Red Son's head looks the best. I do know customizers that sometimes kill Hot Toys regular releases, but when it comes to 1/12 figures, I've yet to see a better job than the one offered by Mezco.
Just my opinion.

This is a weaker example of Tony's work but in general his modifications improve a figure beyond what Mezco originally achieved. Wolverine, Superman, Captain America, Daredevil. He's damn good at what he does.

Yeah,Mezco needs to take notes from him....When Thor comes around, I will likely have to hit him up because Mezco will probably screw him up

what’s cheap/ amateurish about that?

Absolutely nothing, the headsculpt is superior, the trunks are superior, the colors are superior, the proportions are better (in virtue of the more fitting size of the head).

I would mention the boots too but they're Marvel Legends :lol it's funny that even those are better than Mezco's.

However, I have seen customs that do look amateurish, and even those look better than Mezco.

Well I put myself oh the waitlist for Tigerstripe Wolvey. I hope it converts. I'm a little bit perturbed at Mezco. They said the don't charge the NRD deposit on waitlist but I got charged $20. I hope that's a good sign.

Man, you hate Mezco. Weird considering how much time you spend here.
I've got gripes about their business practices but I'm generally pretty satisfied with their product. Overall, I prefer their updated brown Wolverine to Tonys. Still, he does good work.

I hate their bad taste, I don't hate their production values, even as-is the Marvel Legends wolverine is better than Mezco.

They just make all the wrong choices in the majority of their figures, and for some reason, people eat it up just because of the fabric clothing, you strip them of that and they're literally Marvel Legends/DC Icons, only with worse design.

And the fanbase has turned into rabid shills, I'd say even worse than Neca's at this point.
