Not enough challenge? Am I the only one who finds the game to be pretty tough?

Yes at first it was tough. I DIED many many many times, constantly promoting captains, making everyone even stronger, then I run into them again in the field and get my butt kicked again lol
Often with bad luck, where 3-4 captains spot you again while you're doing something else.

But once I chipped away at side missions and stuff and got some more upgrades, now I'm a more capable and confident warrior for sure.

The War chief battles took some time too.

There's one that I haven't been able to kill after 5 or 6 attempts. It's mainly because every time I try to go after him another captain will spawn and they both call in reinforcements which leads to me getting overwhelmed really quickly. Then of course both get promoted.

That's how I got myself killed today. I can take out anyone at this point but I went to kill a captain on a side mission. It was in one of those fighting cages and he called in backup along with another captain who came in. It didn't work out for me. :lol

I find the game quite decent in the difficulty department.......I was nervous as to the lack of a 'difficulty setting' inititally, but its a non issue for me now. Hard at times, ok at others......but never super frustrating

Lol Yes this keeps happening to me repeatedly. The nemesis system sucks, but it's completely awesome. It makes you regret picking some of the fights without properly planning it out.

I was starting to think the nemesis system was a nice fraud feature. Meaning, that no real strategy was needed to defeat a boss. Sure, some of them are scared of this or that, or the other, but they all die in the same basic way. Today, I encountered some that I needed to give real thought to...and that was great. As you progress, the feature seems to deepen......loving it

I do like the nemesis system as well. It just adds a nice change to these kinds of games and I hope others pick up on it.

I finally decided to test my might against one of the Warchiefs....and kicked his ass. After dispatching his bodyguards with stealth kills (what luck that they were both vulnerable when he wasn't) then went after him with everything. He kept calling in backup, but I chipped away his life before it made a difference. :rock

Nice! All of mine are dead. Except Rat Bag he's the only one.

Now that I know I can take one down I think I"m going to star taking them out.

I did a mission in which I killed the Warchief - my screen has the 1/4 dead thing to it........I trust I did not accidentally do a much later mission early? He wasn't hard, but taking on a warchief seems like something that would happen later...?

I took my time but I understand. I had to kill some new ones because a few more jumped up the ranks. I'm 49% done and like 19 hours of gameplay it says.

Decided to take on a warchief in one of the strongholds and ended up getting savagely murdered by him, 3 captains, 3 or 4 of those shield guys and about 20 orcs.

^Yup that happens too. Is there any method on how long or what it takes for the Warchiefs to be replaced? There's a trophy for killing them all before any get replaced since I've got 2 down now I want to try and get the trophy before someone gets promoted.

Yeah I just went after one of the bodyguards, and one of his abilities is to call in backup. So of course he calls for help, and 2 more Captains show up. It took me almost 30 minutes, but I finally took them all down. That combat drain ability is awesome!!!
