It's sad to see a guy with so much talent (A QB with cornerback speed!) be so stupid and squander his god given ability. I watched 'NFL Live" today on ESPN and some were saying that Goodell might ban Vick from the league for life.

Too bad Atlanta doesn't play at Cleveland this season... I bet The Dog Pound would have some choice words (or something worse) for him.

I laugh at that! The dog pound is tame to us PHILLY fans. We will serve him up right. You can bet on that! :D

You got it! LOL! We bleed green and hate anyone who doesn't. Then add Vick and this mess to the mix. I hate anyone showing up with a Falcons Jersey on. LOL! :monkey3

I mean Christ, look what you guys did to freaking Santa Claus.:lol

Well, I know they are tame compated to Philly but I just like the Dog reference. This may be the only time I will fully support Philly fans acting like maniacs. :) I just hope Derrick Brooks and my boys have a little something for him as well.

No, I never said he had no clue or that he wasn't lying... that's just it, I don't know, because I don't have all the facts. Only a jury of his peers can decide if he knew or was lying. I'm just saying, must we always grab the torches and form a mob at the first hint of wrong-doing?

In short, yes.

Long version is that celebs/players get off easy on all of this kind of crap and as a Joe Public citizen I am more that sick of it.

They get out of DUI's, theft, speeding, paying tabs at bars or resturant's and as OJ, Ray Lewis ( who at least KNEW more than he said even if he didn't commit the stabbing ) and that Robert whatever his name was has shown even murder.

A trial? You mean another celeb SHAM where he might get a slap on the wrist? Why bother. Just let him walk now because that's what will probably happen.

Am I ready to find him guilty right now before a trial? Of course because he KNEW.

...Am I ready to find him guilty right now before a trial? Of course because he KNEW.

Has there been any evidence leaked that he knew what was going on? And not just "eye witnesses" either; people lie all the time, so some kind of physical evidence. And just in case anyone is getting the wrong idea, I'm not standing up for the man or believe he is innocent of all wrong doing, I just want to believe that in today's America we are still innocent until proven guilty, but I guess that just isn't the case anymore.

I just hope I'm never accused of a serious crime...

No he deserves to be shunned and ostracized.
This isn't a case of wrong place, wrong time.
He didn't get caught up in the moment and do an illegal drug.
He didn't make a bad decision and shoplift.
He didn't go into a blind rage and hit someone.

This is an organized ring that apparently has happened multiple times. It didn't just pop up one night in the middle of drinking beer and playing cards. People thought about this, planned this, carried it out to the savage delight of its barbaric onlookers. You don't just accidentally be involved with this.
It is completely uncivilized and inhumane, and has no place in a civilized society. I don't care if some cultures find it acceptable, because in a world where people remove the clitoris from young girls, anything is justifiable in some peoples minds.

It may not be clear to what degree he was involved, but it goes beyond the realm of likelihood that he had at least some knowledge about this.
Screw the trial. It may find him guilty of criminal activity which may result in jail time or a fine, but in my mind he is guilty of immoral, indecent and inhuman behavior which results in my public disgust.

Before Arthur Blank bought the Falcons he owned Home Depot.
And why should any of this affect how people feel about Arthur Blank? Knowing his rep here in ATL I can guarantee you he had no idea any of this was going on before it hit and he's probably as disappointed and disgusted by it all as anyone else, if not more.

This is merely the tip of the iceberg.
Could someone identify the number of current NFL players who have criminal records? They should rename it the National Felons League.

Of course, many of these were people who played college football when they could not even spell the word college. The entered institutions of higher learning and made up probably the bottom 1% of SAT scores. But they had a sports talent so merit and intelligence be damned. Some poor kid with twice the scores did not get in because they do not have sports skills. Tragic.

Vick is just the poster boy for a real sickness.

I heard an undercover cop was at one of them and Vick was there. That is over the radio and not confirmed and I am holding judgement until the facts come out, HOWEVER, I do think he should be found guilty of a lesser charge because noone can convince me he didn't know about it, it's not like they found pot hidden in a book on the 5th shelf of the house Vick owned and a relative was living there, it was a dog-fighting operation..and because of that he should be found guilty of at least the lesser charge and serve probation, etc...if not some jail-time.

Vick's Troubles Suspend Release of Nike Product

By GEORGE HENRY

ATLANTA (AP) - Michael Vick's legal troubles prompted Nike on Thursday to suspend the release of its latest product line named after the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.

Nike has told retailers it will not release a fifth signature shoe, the Air Zoom Vick V, this summer. Nike spokesman Dean Stoyer said the four shoe products and three shirts that currently bear Vick's name will remain in stores.

Vick will be arraigned next week in a Richmond, Va., federal courtroom on charges of sponsoring a gruesome dogfighting operation.

Meanwhile, Falcons owner Arthur Blank issued a statement Thursday, saying the organization is "working diligently on exploring our options."

"This is an emotionally charged and complicated matter," Blank said. "There are a wide range of interests and legal issues that need to be carefully considered as we move ahead, including our need to respect the due process that Michael is entitled to. Also, this situation affects everyone - our club, our players and associates, our sponsors, our fans and the Atlanta community among them - so we must consider all of our customers in making any decisions.

"Given the differing perspectives and strong feelings around this issue, we probably won't make everyone happy, but we are committed to doing the right thing. As the owner of this club that's, ultimately, my responsibility."

Blank added that he was "saddened and distressed about this - not for myself, for our fans and community who have been so loyal to us."

ESPN reported that Vick had called Blank on Wednesday. The network said its sources believed Vick to have been contrite, and he apologized for the distractions the case has created, and thanked Blank for his support.

Stoyer said Nike still has a standing contract with Vick, but declined to speculate on his future with the company.

A statement released by Nike Inc. said the company "is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent. We do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the same due process as any citizen; therefore, we have not terminated our relationship."

Stoyer, who declined to discuss terms of Vick's contract, indicated the company has no commercials or documentaries planned with the three-time NFL Pro Bowl selection.

In previous years, Nike has run footage and interviews with Vick on its Web site, but none of the video promotions are currently posted.

"Some of that was shown on a limited run based on rights and usage," Stoyer said. "There's nothing new planned."

The Humane Society of the United States issued a statement calling upon Nike to pull its Vick clothing and shoes from retailers and from its web site. It also called upon NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to suspend Vick.

Vick signed his current contract with Nike in 2001, the same year Atlanta chose him as the NFL's No. 1 overall draft pick. After leading the Falcons to the 2002 and '04 playoffs, Vick last year became the first quarterback in league history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

i had always thought vick's younger brother was a lowlife for stomping the leg of an opposing player, but apparantly on field assault, pulling weapons on teens, drug charges and sexual assault with underage girls are just the tip of the iceberg for the vicks.

the media has reported that the dog fighting ring had been ongoing since 2001, vick's rookie year. it's hard to believe that in 6 years, vick never visited the home he owned. the truth will surface and vick won't be able to hide from his playing stupid act.

It shouldn't, I was answering someones question from an earlier post.

I should clarify that I don't think it should reflect negatively on Blank YET, but I am holding out to see how he and the NFL for that matter react. Vick may be the highest paid NFL player, but if they punished Tank and Pac-man with suspensions, Vick should be as well ---- of course after his time in the klink!

This is a serious felony folks, remember how we reacted when Barbaro had to be put down. Face it, in this country we don't take too kindly to animal abuse, nor should we. Not only that but he is being tried in a fast district and by a harsh judge.

If ever a celeb/athlete were to get their's it SHOULD be here with all these cards aligned.
