I disagree. I think it's a brilliant design. And one of the best figures hot toys has done to date.

I agree, the Mark 42 is the best IM figure they have done to this date, stronger joints, better articulation and due to it been metal actually looks metal unlike the old IM figs,

Well my wait list was just cancelled. I guess I screwed up waiting.

Me too.

Hello Collector,

I wanted to contact you about your wait list reservation for the Sideshow Exclusive Iron man Mark III Sixth Scale Figure (#9022241). I am sorry to say that there is no more stock available for this item and we will need to cancel your wait list reservation.

Thanks for nothing SSC, although I must admit, I did get on the WL late. Why doesn't HT just make more of them if there is demand? (waitlisters)

I find it a bit strange that all of these figures on waitlist are "selling out" when they are still several months from being released. Same thing happened with Star Lord and Marty Mcfly Ex's. There is still plenty of time for people to cancel their orders.

Not to mention cc declines... usually at least 10-15% of the POs.

I don't want anymore DC iron mans like 42, that ****er was designed bad :lecture

Are you referring to the design of the suit itself, or how HT executed it in 1:6? If it's the former, I won't say anything against your statement. Not that I agree, but it's a matter of taste. However if it's the latter -- objectively speaking, the die-cast IP and M42 are engineered really well, and the added articulation on the elbows and the pelvis can prove that.

I was referring to the badly designed shoulders that look awkward and were prone to breaking.

Same here. Waitlist cancelled. This has never happened before... same thing happened with Star-Lord EX... why are they "sold out" so fast now? :dunno:

Canceling a wait list ? Makes zero sense

Is there anyone whose waitlist didn't get cancelled? I can understand cutting people off from the waitlist if it is already way too long for the allotment that Sideshow will receive; but if every waitlist request got cancelled, then I'm confused.

One idea is that Hot Toys is actually adapting and starting to lower its production runs after a bunch of overproduction, but even then, Sideshow knows that not every preorder will result in an order, so a waitlist still becomes necessary.

The only way any of this makes sense is if there are still people on a (shorter) waitlist, with a chunk of the people at the end being taken off the list because there's little chance of them ever getting a conversion (e.g., number 4000 on a waitlist for 200 figures).

That sounds like the best reason. I'm sure they have not cancelled everyone probably just slimming the list down to something more manageable.

So I recieved an email from an Elieasy Mexican or whatever the **** her fake name is saying the EX wait.ist is now closed as they they are out of stock and closing my reservation

Mind you this figure isn't listed to ship before July 2015. How is that even possible to know what your stock looks like?

Ass clowns likely just wanna get money from NRD. Business must be slow sideshow.

Hot toys gave them a certain number of stock they can sell and they aren't giving them anymore

So that means they predict the future of who will and can actually pay for it this far in advanced? Puleeeease. This is nothing more than an attempt to get people to pay $31.00 as of this date for the regular version. Don't be so naive.

I think Elisse is her real name. I thought I saw her SSC profile/picture/page a while back.

Same thing happened with Star-Lord. I was going to get on the EX waitlist after winning Rocket but it said Sold Out. :slap

They may not be able to predict who will cancel, but after a decade of doing busineess they can pretty accurately predict what percentage will. If they have a set allotment of figures (hot toys knows long before a figure ever hits production how many they will make), with a percentage set aside for preorders, a percentage set aside for dos(day of sale) and a percentage set aside for customer service issues (returns/broken/damaged/lost) they know exactly how many each category gets. They allow a wait list because of the plan for cancellations in advance...but if they have an entire preorder sold out and a wait list that is longer then every single figure they are allotted, while a different version of the same figure isn't sold out yet, why on earth would they not cancel people that have zero chance of actually converting? Give them a chance to order the other version or look elsewhere.

You are spouting off like you know for sure they did this just to mess with folks or on some whim. If they really needed the money or wanted the NRD they could do that every single time and the pre orders would still do the same amount of sales. It's not naive to understand how a business operates, but it is naive/silly/asine to think they cancel a full order of a 200 dollar product, on the off chance they may get a 30 dollar NRD on that same product, only because they want the NRD... and not because they actually calculated based on millions of sales over years of doing business that they wouldn't have enough of the cancelled product.
