Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

This is what bothers me. I've not seen them acknowledge or make a statement to anything other than the suit. I'm more concerned about the retarded heads being fixed. If they aren't addressing that, then they obviously aren't concerned about it.

You could always ask the seller to declare it as a low cost gift, thus avoiding customs... (not that I would ever do anything that nefarious...ahem).

Otherwise you'll end up paying a post office/parcelforce fee (around £12 I think, but don't quote me) plus 17.5% VAT.

And if the item is insured, the lowered gift cost throws the insurance value out the window.

That's standard policy when companies offer replacements but don't hastle with shipping back the damaged product, they make sure you destory the original and prove it to them so they know they're not basically giving you a second for free, even though the first has defects in it, depending on how bad, it could end up being like having 2 figures for the price of one, so this is how they handle that.

more importantly they do not want the faulty parts to still float around and piss off other ppl when the original owner tries to make a quick buck by selling the defect ones or worse get someone else to claim it again

Dear DX Batman Customers,

We have received your comments and well noted your concerns regarding the quality control on part of the DX Batman products recently. Our company has gone through detailed testing repeatedly and found out that the reason for paint fading of suit in the first batch of products is because of paint thickening in the primer paint spraying process, leading to the easily scratched nature and paint fading of the surface, which is not related to the materials used in the Batman suit.

Our company has taken immediate actions on modification and repeated checking. We affirm that this particular case only appears in a limited part of the first batch products and not all the products show similar situation. For the second batch of products, we have paid extra efforts on quality control and conducted a multitude of tests to ensure the quality standard and to avoid similar incident from happening again.

For every product, we hope to make it perfect. Because the production process of Hot Toys’ products is highly complicated, for this particular issue appeared in the production process and quality control, we have reviewed it seriously and proactively as well as deeply apologized to the customers affected. In this particular case, we will handle the replacement services flexibly and extend the replacement period in order to compensate for the inconvenience caused to the customers affected. We will also handle this case in a responsible and proactive manner.

For overseas customers, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Service Dept at [email protected]. For enquiries from Hong Kong, please contact Toy Hunters at (852) 2388 4677 or visit our store in person with valid receipts. We apologize again for the inconvenience caused and promise to try our utmost to deliver quality collectibles in future. Thank you very much.

In HT we trust, Amen :D

Why do you need acknowledgment when everyone is already getting replacement?

I'm glad they put that on their facebook page. I thought it was very professional and it acknowledges that they have fixed the problem and the reason for the problem as well as how they will remedy everyone's replacements with an extended warranty. I'm glad HT did this. Thank you Hot Toys!

Replacing a figure because of a suit doesn't mean they've addressed the head issue. I don't want a good suit and a squashed head. I want both issues to be addressed so that I won't have to worry about sending it back for a replacement. Fix it in production.

they have been replacing the heads too possibly even before the suit. Have some faith ;)

That's my point though. If they are addressing production issues to fix a problem. And the only problem they are acknowledging is the suit, that means they don't believe the head production to be a problem and will not address it. Sure they'll replace it if you get a bad one, but I don't want to have to replace it. I want it to be addressed at the production level so I don't have to replace it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Yes, it was hard and painfull but this is the only way to have my perfect Batman DX.

Salvage the armour. Build a diorama drawer when Wayne receives a talk through with his new suit.

You could always ask the seller to declare it as a low cost gift, thus avoiding customs... (not that I would ever do anything that nefarious...ahem).

Otherwise you'll end up paying a post office/parcelforce fee (around £12 I think, but don't quote me) plus 17.5% VAT.

It's roughly £18 - £21. As I was stung a few times with items from Hong Kong even with a value of $30 USD and marked as gift. It really seems to depend on the day customs gets it. I still cannot work out how customs works because the same things marked down in past figure boxes $30USD value and gift checked has got past customs. Yet other times it has not.

Like I said have some faith. I understand your concern but a lot of ppl are freaking out (oh the irony :rotfl) but the fact that HT has fixed problems in the past without leaving customers hanging deserves some trust.

Hot toys dx batman - vs - hot toys batpod

HOT TOYS DX BATMAN - VS - HOT TOYS BATPOD

OK, so after a few days of deciding wether to try my DX Batman on the Batpod or not I finally gave in tried it this afternoon.

After now having tried this, my advice to anyone thinking of doing the same is to NOT BOTHER! lol
I spent at least 45mins positioning him on it and trying to get him to look good and this was the result:

b1.jpg

He actually fits on the Batpod pretty well. It took a lot of posing and fiddling but in the end he fit on it nicely.
But the main problem after all that effort, and as the photos clearly show, is his head just WILL NOT look up!!!

b2.jpg

I spent ages trying to get his head to look up but it is just NEVER going to happen unfortunately.
This is due to the strength of the magnets used in the neck and the position of the metal in the head. The magnet is so strong that no matter how much you try to get him to look up, the force just pulls the head straight back down again. ( very frustrating!!! )

b3.jpg

It's not a problem when the DX Batman is standing upright though. You can get his head to tilt quite a fair way back. But when he's bent forwards or horizontal, the head just goes back down again.
If anyone is unsure of what I mean, just hold your DX Batman horizontal, then try moving the head as far back as you can and you'll see.
I guess if you really wanted to, you could find something to wedge under Batmans' chin and try to keep his head upright that way, but for me that would've just caused more stress and I'm not too sure what you could use....

Also, another frustrating problem was that the Batpod cape holder ( the one supplied with the Batpod that helps you to dynamically pose the cape ) doesn't actually fit properly on the new DX armour, making it increasingly frustrating to pose the cape on Batman.
It does sort of fit, but not as it should do like the V1 Batman.

SO, after my afternoon of frustration and dissappointment, some good news did actually come out of it all!
After all the posing and handling and stretching of my DX Batman trying to get him on the Batpod, he emerged from the ordeal in perfect condition!

b4.jpg

His suit was just as good as it was before I tried posing him on it. NO scratches, marks or PEELING!

So unfortunately I wasn't able to take lots of cool awesome pics of Batman on his Batpod for all to see as I had planned, but at least I didn't damage my DX trying! :D
It's a shame he can't look up on the Batpod 'cos I do love having him posed on there, but never mind. He still looks cool as hell stood next to it anyway!

( btw, I know my monitor needs a good wipe! lol )

Re: Hot toys dx batman - vs - hot toys batpod

This is helpful information, but doesn't need a new thread just for it, it can be as helpful in the Batman DX thread. I'll also quote this into the Batpod thread for people there to see.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Could you not wedge some foam or similar inside the head to stop the magnet pulling it down?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

cool, I just wasn't sure wether to put it in here or Batpod thread which is why I made one but no worries :D

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

It's no problem, just trying to keep TDK from consuming the DC section on people.

I'm not sure if the magnet would just pull the head sideways instead then though... I think you'd need something that actually sticks the head to the neck aswell as holding it upright.
