Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

The neck looks rather long, I am wondering if anyone else feels the same way?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

A ball of blu tac perhaps?
Yeah, that could possibly work, though it would have to be wedged right in there so you couldn't see it. That would probably help to stick the cape holder to the back armour too...

HOT TOYS DX BATMAN - VS - HOT TOYS BATPOD

OK, so after a few days of deciding wether to try my DX Batman on the Batpod or not I finally gave in tried it this afternoon.

After now having tried this, my advice to anyone thinking of doing the same is to NOT BOTHER! lol
I spent at least 45mins positioning him on it and trying to get him to look good and this was the result:

He actually fits on the Batpod pretty well. It took a lot of posing and fiddling but in the end he fit on it nicely.
But the main problem after all that effort, and as the photos clearly show, is his head just WILL NOT look up!!!

I spent ages trying to get his head to look up but it is just NEVER going to happen unfortunately.
This is due to the strength of the magnets used in the neck and the position of the metal in the head. The magnet is so strong that no matter how much you try to get him to look up, the force just pulls the head straight back down again. ( very frustrating!!! )

It's not a problem when the DX Batman is standing upright though. You can get his head to tilt quite a fair way back. But when he's bent forwards or horizontal, the head just goes back down again.
If anyone is unsure of what I mean, just hold your DX Batman horizontal, then try moving the head as far back as you can and you'll see.
I guess if you really wanted to, you could find something to wedge under Batmans' chin and try to keep his head upright that way, but for me that would've just caused more stress and I'm not too sure what you could use....

Also, another frustrating problem was that the Batpod cape holder ( the one supplied with the Batpod that helps you to dynamically pose the cape ) doesn't actually fit properly on the new DX armour, making it increasingly frustrating to pose the cape on Batman.
It does sort of fit, but not as it should do like the V1 Batman.

SO, after my afternoon of frustration and dissappointment, some good news did actually come out of it all!
After all the posing and handling and stretching of my DX Batman trying to get him on the Batpod, he emerged from the ordeal in perfect condition!

His suit was just as good as it was before I tried posing him on it. NO scratches, marks or PEELING!

So unfortunately I wasn't able to take lots of cool awesome pics of Batman on his Batpod for all to see as I had planned, but at least I didn't damage my DX trying! :D
It's a shame he can't look up on the Batpod 'cos I do love having him posed on there, but never mind. He still looks cool as hell stood next to it anyway!

( btw, I know my monitor needs a good wipe! lol )
well this was very useful information, I also cant believe it .. I have seen some pictures of collectors where the head stands up . .. but i wont ask your doubt .. !!

thank you for sharing this,

And to be honest .. I still going to buy the bat pod ..I think is amazing ..!!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I am happy that i have 2 Batman Dark Knight v1 to pose with the Batpod and to make a sonar head figure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I'm hoping that Hot Toys' recent comment about the paint flaking issue means batch 2 isn't overly delayed for the extra QC measures and we'll see places like Toys2 get it fairly soon.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I think that every suit bought till today has the peeling problem.

I made so much tests with my destroyed suit and i think that is a matter of time to see the problems on the suits.

They are so fragile, if you rubber it a little the paint came off inmediately.

I think that they must keep the suit like the v1. Not put more capes of fragile paint.

Mine is completely fine so far.

Well based on the Hot Toy statement, I'm sure some from Batch 1 will never have flaking issues, sounds like a matter of conditions around the paint and that some from that batch weren't affected. My guess is they may have found out the application wasn't right, but didn't realize it led to flaking until the figure shipped out and people got it and found it.

Mine was perfect when he arrived.

The peeling process is like when you take so much sun and your skin begins to fall off. But in this case you have to rubber it a little.

I don´t want to upload the video but trust me, all the figures have this problem.

The problem is that the more external cape of paint is fragile. Is not strong enought for rubbering with the finger.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I have no doubt yours and a lot have the peeling issue, but I don't think anyone can safely say ALL the figures have it. Maybe it can happen to them all, or maybe some actually have the right mix and can endure handling and all, there's just too much unknown to really make and concrete conclusions. Like I've said, all we can do is be aware of the issues with this figure and keep and eye out for them as we get our figures.

Kapital, how long did it take for yours to start deteriorating?

I doesn´t star deteriorating.

If you don´t touch it i think that there will be no problem.

But if you scratchs with your finger (not nail) when you pose it the paint will disapear. Only with the rubb of the belt it can damage the paint.

All right, thanks! Well since I hardly ever touch my figures again once I've posed them, I guess mine should be fine.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I take it off, Agen knows how is the peeling problem.

I think is enought to say that is a fragile paint.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Mine's absolutely fine even after posing him on the Batpod. That involved lots of handling and rubbing of the armour, especially on the legs - plus stretching and folding of the leg armour too. Still no peeling issues at all, so it really can't be every figure that has the problems.
