In regards to the oil leakage going on: does it hurt the suit at all or is it just annoying? I can deal with wiping it off ever other day or whatever; but if it's a problem that is corrosive and it somehow damages the figure then I will take extra precautions. If someone could let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks!

When you were growing up, did you ever think you would one day find yourself obliged to regularly wipe oil from the abdominal area of a 12 inch Batman figure?

We're missing something here - this was all planned. Hot Toys are playing some twisted game with us. They're sitting in HK and laughing as Freaks post on here about having to wipe oil off their Batmen - they're making people destroy their figures and then send them photos - next thing, they'll be telling us that if you really want a replacement you'll have to send them a photo of yourself in a French maid's outfit.

Hey, look at that - my DX Batman's breasts just started to leak milk.

When you were growing up, did you ever think you would one day find yourself obliged to regularly wipe oil from the abdominal area of a 12 inch Batman figure?

When I was growing up I didn't think I'd have to do a lot of things but you have to sometimes. Maybe that's just my strange life though.

Anyone waiting for their replacement sonar heads??
I recieved my replacement sonar head today and I have to say it is perfect now, no faults whatsoever. I am relieved now.
I had a very reliable good customer service from those guys, very impressed with them now.

Here are a couple pictures I took, pretty much the best I can do since my camera is really old. With and without flash. Notice the lower abs are much darker than the upper ones, but the upper left is starting to leak as well.

The picture with no flash is how it generally looks in natural lighting. This was about 3 hours after I'd cleaned it. After 8 hours or so, it's completely coated in oil.

Also, HT apparently would be sending me an entirely new figure, I suppose. I'm not ready to destroy it yet, mainly because the varnish I applied has slowed the oil leakage dramatically and I want to see if it holds up.

oohhhhh only the lower portion of the upper part of the suit, you think it might be gravity that causes the residue to simply collect in the ab area? Do you see similar in the back? What if you laid the figure down after cleaning I wonder if the residue will surface or not but then you just added a coat of vanish which may block the residue already but maybe someone else can try it out?

I doubt it has anything to do with gravity, as it hasn't appeared anywhere else. I honestly couldn't tell you what is causing it, I'm at a loss.

Yeah, if my fixes don't work I'll be tearing it apart for my replacement soon. I'll be damned if I don't try everything in my power to fix it first, though.

cr0w, it would be nice if you could wreck it in such a way that the pieces are all cut up but to do it in such a way that it's like Fox showing Bruce the suit for the first time when he slides open the drawer. Rather than just tearing it to shreds.

I think its better for you to get a replacement from HT though while they still willing to, a perfect one. Since the old one is pretty much considered as 'damaged goods' no matter how hard you try to fix it.

And with a little luck, we'll know soon that indeed, Batch 1 was rushed and a blip on the radar and bugs were fixed and time taken with Batch 2 so everyone looking for replacement or still waiting for a figure can get a perfect DX Batman without any worries or problems, because other than these issues, I think the figure turned out really nice and it'd be a shame for such a sharp figure to become lackluster because of these shortcomings.

I agree with this. Even if you find a way to disguise the figures flaws it will still be flawed and it will probably bug you.

For the price you paid, take up Hot Toys on their offer. You deserve it!

I think if handled right, you could hack up the figure in such a away you could retain parts for some use, though if you have to do something to the gauntlets, they won't be of much use.

That is such a great idea!!!!!!!!
I am sure you can make a few large cuts along the pretend seams to make it look damaged enough without them realizing what you are trying to do
Ppl gotto stop putting the idea out that you could sell parts for money. I am sure someone over in HT is reading this site and the moment this idea becomes too obvious and abused then bye bye to that option and start having to ship all faulty parts back

LOL! I was actually waiting for the day when I would be getting wiped again! But I digress, yes, I am very sure that they have designed this just like evolution designed humans to pick up after other animals like dogs when they take them for walks in the park. Alas, I don't think that mankind was supposed to wipe their toys; but I can't begin to speak for what nature actually had planned for us. I guess, I'm a little embarrassed that I will be wiping my Batman, but hey - so long as my wife doesn't snicker at me, I'll be fine.
