I don't know if it has any long-term effects, but I would assume that there's only a finite amount of it, and it could be a substance that was used to keep the rubber soft and pliable, so if it ever dries out, it could lead to cracking or other degradation. It's not corrosive at all.

The cosmetic problem is more immediate and annoying...it looks terrible, and when it inevitably causes the paint on that area to dissolve, it clashes with the rest of the armor.

Its probably just doing what they call "off gasing"...most rubber and plastic products do this. Usually, we only get the residual smell by the time it hits the shores but it sounds like Crows has an exceptional amount of curing going on.

I've never seem it on my 1/6th collectibles but I often see it in the packaging of Hasbro SW figs and Mattel DCUC figs in the corners of the blister.

It shouldn't be harmful but it might lead to the paint not staying adhered to the rubber itself.

Hey, just destroy the suit and one of the heads and keep or sell the accessory pieces. I'd be interested in some if you want to unload em...unless of course HT wants to see the entire figure destroyed. Send em a short video. That should be convincing enough to get your new fig in hand.

I've never had a problem with HTs CS. If they told you they are gonna replace it, they will. They always have for me.

Well, HT finally got back with me about the oil problem on my suit. They said they'll replace it, but they need clear, high-res pictures of the destroyed suit. I'm going to try one more fix before I do it, but even with the promise of a replacement...that's going to be tough for me to do.

Why you replacing yours? is it just purely because of the oil problem on the abs area?

Almost everyone I know that have the bats DX is having the same oily abs area.

Yeah, the oil on the ab area is the problem. Mine's gotten a bit excessive, and it's getting to where I need to clean it off every 2-3 hours or else the entire ab area will have a shiny, oily sheen on it.

I applied some matte varnish to the area last night, and it seems to be helping quite a bit. 10 or so hours later and there's barely any oil build up.

Has anyone theorized as to why this is only occurring in the abs area, if that is something that can be generalized on? What makes the Abs area different than the e.g. crotch, arm, leg, back area?
Cr0w can you post some more pictures of this as you obviously have been able to show it well enough for HT to issue the replacement? Oh btw are they sending you the entire set again or just the body cause one of the comments by another freak here almost made me believe that?

Hopefully Toys2's shipment won't suffer any of these problems.

My guess on the abs would be because it's a joint in the suit, possibly the doubling of the rubber is a factor 2 as the top and pants overlap there.

Was the residue only showing where it was covered by the belt or the plastic around it? Cause looking at this shot (didnt bother going back al the pages here to look for more unboxing shots) there is no residue visible and considering that it shows up in only a few hours after cleanup all the time and all the time it is in the box after production and shipping it should show up immediately you open the box?

Do you mean soon like maybe...this week? I have the DX1 AND DX2 on pre-order and chose to receive them together so if Bats arrives this week, it also means I get the Joker as well...

He is expecting some quantities to arrive this week sometime but who know how many though and exactly when Usually I find out about the actual arrival faster through this forum than him calling me as he sends out shipping notices but this time around I think I am amongst the first as I called him and pre ordered the moment I saw it being mentioned on HT

I was thinking more of the scene where he kicked off the four SWAT guys tied to the rope but to safe some money show him only with one last SWAT guy falling of the building to keep my budget low.. if I had those other clown masks I would so consider what you mention but right now this will have to do to pose with my Sonar Batman in one of the fight scenes.
Another Angry pissed Batman on the Batpod in the Hit Me scene (which might not work ) but that one less and less likely going to work and be permanent as I am just running out of space

Here are a couple pictures I took, pretty much the best I can do since my camera is really old. With and without flash. Notice the lower abs are much darker than the upper ones, but the upper left is starting to leak as well.

The picture with no flash is how it generally looks in natural lighting. This was about 3 hours after I'd cleaned it. After 8 hours or so, it's completely coated in oil.

Also, HT apparently would be sending me an entirely new figure, I suppose. I'm not ready to destroy it yet, mainly because the varnish I applied has slowed the oil leakage dramatically and I want to see if it holds up.
