OK know it alls here, Toys2 will ship out the first wave of DX figures in order of when orders came in. He has to go back to July 2009 and they'll have enough pieces come in over the next 10-14 days that most or the majority of orders will go out from now, till late next week per Toys2.

I checked the abs area this morning & the oil had indeed started to appear again. I took the belt off & it was very oily behind it and on the suit....so I cleaned it up, wiped the belt down but left it off. We'll see if the oil is coming from the belt (or possibly left over from the wrapping) or not later today.

They look better if you tilt them up slightly while tilting the head down slightly. Straight on they do look a little....intense.
personally, i find the eyes on the dx really weird looking. the pupils are too big. makes him look a bit stoned.

It also doesn't help when the lighting is so heavy on the face that there's no shadow over the eyes obscuring some of the white and looking more natural. They might be a bit too wide open to maximize PERS positions, but in lighting where shadow should fall on them a bit, they shouldn't look so ivory or strong either.

Just looked at my two DX02s and the second one that orginally had a tiny bit of residue had a bit again on the lower right ab plate just covered by the belt. I will leave the belt off from now on and see whats up. I am thinking that maybe it's not a material interaction but rather that the belt fits so tight that the rubber almost behaves like a sponge and hence the residue is what gets squeezed right out of it? The residue only showed up on the lower edge of the one plate that was under pressure and I could actually see the impression of the belt. The ruber below, the unpainted glossy mesh and th graphite area both do not dow any signs of residue. My other DX02 has the belt sitting even lower completely clearing the ab plates and is not showing any signs of residue so maybe thats really it?

That's an interesting point Geil, if it's lubrcricant that's between the layers of the suit, as i know the interior of the v1 was lubricated, the excessively tight belt could be forcing some of that through the rubber and to the surface, would explain why the effect is focused at the belt region and nowhere else.

I just checked the belt again, and after rubbing my fingers on the back of the belt, it almost seems like there is a very thin coat of some sort of residue on the back of it...I can still feel the hint of it on my fingers. I'm beginning to think that the oil is not from the suit itself, but from the belt, and it's being drawn off by the rubber of the suit somehow. I've had the belt off for 3 hours now & the ab plates are dry as a bone. I've wiped down the back of the belt again, and I'll put it on before I leave at noon. I won't be back for several hours, so I'll see what's up later today.

Well, another possiblity is that there is some sort of lubricant used with the belt, since both belts are made out of a magnetic material rather than straight plastic.

I tend to agree with some kind of lube on the back of the belt.
FYI the belt is indeed plastic, but with little magnetic inserts towards the end of the belt, and they are sealed in with clear plastic covers. Only these small sections are magnetic.

BTW the belt had the residue in the same area where the ab plate was but not where it would touch the other painted areas or deeper areas. I specifically remmebered that the belt was clean prior to mounting it. Keep in mind that unless you have it in hand that the rubber has gotton thicker in many areas where it emulates the plates, where as compared to V1 the ab plates (and other plates as well) is barely a fraction of a mm thicker and overal very thin to begin with. I still think this is coming from the rubber suit and if you leave the belt on longer the residue/oil will saturate that area and hence push out further.
Another factor to mention is that I have changed the belt to the one with the accessories on both DX02s whereas it came with the plain one attached and the fit was slightly less tight on those. One last thing is (since you have not seen it in person yet) that the belt is just your regular plastics molded belt but simply has 3 small metal pieces embedded on the inside. It's even exposed as you can clearly see it. They simply put some tape over it to prevent it from scratching the suit I assume.
In summary I still think it's the added pressure that forces the residue out of the rubber suit. The belt is more of a plastic and likely to contain less oils in it's composition as the rubber suit needs that to gain it's flexibility in the material. This also explains why this has not occurred during transport on some figures because the tightness of the belt does vary from piece to piece and the way it was installed
BTW my forearm came right off when I was trying to remove the hand the clip on the inside was broken but it still works when reassembled, not sure if I should ask for replacement though

Thanks for that, the way people talked before, I was under the impression the entire belt was made of magnetic material.

OK, after cleaning the back of the belt with a dry smooth cloth as much as I could, and drying the abs area, I put the belt back on & will check it in a few hours. I did use the middle row of holes to attach the belt together & it's not as a tight of a fit, the belt is not even touching the ab pads at this point. I still think the back of the belt is treated with some kind of thin layer of silicon lube, I can still feel it on my finger tips.
This should prove interesting....for all I know, the PERS head may start leaking peanut butter from the eye sockets!

It's most certainly the belt. Def on mine it's the belt. I haven't messed around in a while and there is no oily residue, when i mess with the belt, it appears again, so it's def the belt. Just pose him and leave him be.!

So the belt doesn't have to be put on tight? I assumed everyone saying it was too tight was because there was no looser option.

there are two sets of holes much like V1 belt but we all want our pride and joy to look at its best so tightened that belt haha

My v1 belt's always been loose and it didn't bother me. I'll either use the v1 belt on the DX to avoid these problems or just never tighten the DX belt and see if that pays off.

Regarding the eyes. It has also been my impression from the pics I have seen that they look a bit to wide open.
This is the case with the DX01 as well.
Can someone share a pic of DX Batman with the PERS like Karnis describes?
