Hey all, sorry if this has been asked before, but with regards to the DX Batman, did you have to go through Hot Toys to get the replacement or through the people you bought from? I got mine back in like January or early February and its been fine, thought i was one of the lucky ones but its just started to leak from the abs. Im soooo p#$$ed off. Just wondered if and how i could get a replacement body.

Should check the other DX02 thread for the answer. It's being talked about a lot. Most people are just going directly to Hot Toys. They seem to be just replacing everyones. You just need high res pics and a receipt. Just email them. Go on their site and get their CS email.

You just need high res pics and a receipt. Just email them.

300kb maximum per photo. Don't go sending them 2MB - 4MB pictures.

Question to anyone who has recieved a replacment fig from Ht due to oil problems - i think maulfan might be able to answer this - do u think the new 4 plastic abs are slightly larger than the old rubber oil leaking ones?

Geil could best answer that since he has both his defective and replacement to look at side by side. Nothing seems different to me, but it's been months since I saw the original.

There's likely to be a small ammount of difference, if they pour plastic into the same mold, I would think shrink and expansion differ between plastic and rubber, but nothing you wouldn't need to measure down to small fractions to detect.

I see. His stomach seems larger to me but flatter - his belt sits very low down compared to my defective figure.

Maybe it is, and if you have two to compare you can spot it more, I can't spot anything without a comparison though, when I got it back, nothing jumped out at me as being different, i had to tap on the shirt to even know mine was made of plastic too instead of rubber.

I love the angry face, for me it really makes the figure. If this was just a slimmed body with the v1 head, it'd be ok, but the combination of improved body and very expressive face with that angry mouth is just awesome, it's definitely my favorite of the 3 face plates.

I think both abs are using the same mold and would make sense as there was nothing wrong with the shape of it.

Yeah, if the shirt front is any bigger now, it would probably be just a small ammount to compensate for using a hard plastic, where you could stretch it over the body before, might have to expand outward a small ammount to get it on the figure, but I really don't think it's any real significant or detectable difference.

Are the boots on this figure painted black or cast in black rubber?

Can't tell, I didn't think the suit was painted at all until the flaking on the early figures shipped. Could be slightly painted.

The reason I asked is that someone mentioned in the "oil" thread that deep poses might cause cracking in the paint near the ankles.

Didn't like the sound of that.

I wouldn't worry about paint issues, but, any of the rubber spots, if a pose creates wrinkles that aren't sculpted in, if you leave the figure in that pose longterm, it will leave permanent wrinkles, but the only spots most poses will have that are ankles and elbows where there should show some wrinkling anyway, the only spots in the body that would wrinkle would be the legs and even those, only if you had him in a crouched type position that really stretches the rubber.
