Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I may do that someday, but I hate the idea of destroying a collectable. At least in terms of re-sale.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

not really destroying it. i did not clip the ball joint post on the body, i just took out the rubber piece in the neck piece itself. i can easily put it back in.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

nevermind, i shoulda took pics =)

point is i did not snip off the neck post on the body or use the tdk v1 neck to shorten it

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

finally managed to lower my neck, was going to mod the TDK v1 neck but was too lazy, so i took the DX neck opened it up and took out that rubber ball joint piece and snipped those plastic ball joint piece off on each side and shoved it back in the body. sorry i dint take pics of that mod.

What about that? Sounds like destroying to me. :dunno

If you have a way to mod the DX neck without destroying anything you need to tell us.

well i guess you could call that destroying but to me that is just something i don't need and can easily put everything back in its original form if i sell it, albeit having to superglue the rubber ball joint back in.

split the neck in half and take pics and i can point out where the cutting needs to be.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

If it can not be returned to the condition it was in when you got it from Hot Toys, it's effectively destroyed. It may look great on the shelf, but you could never sell it as mint or even excellent.

You would have to tell any perspective buyers exactly what was done to the figure. You could try to sell it as an "improvement" but, not everyone would buy that.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Could you please explain how this is not a contradiction:

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just really want to understand.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

its not because one is on the body and the other has only to do with the neck piece. if need be, i can replace that neck piece. im done do what u want =)

If butters149 is "done" could someone please translate for me. If there is a way to do a DX neck mod without destroying anything I really really want to know about it.

Not much to translate.

I don't think there will be any alternative. Apart from buying a v1 neck, drill a deeper hole in the neck as well as the bottom curve of the neck so it sits deeper rather than snipping the ball joint off the body itself. Then whatever tweaks to the top of the neck itself for the head to sit on for the magnets. That will be the only way to not damage any part of the body.

I love this figure. I had the Medi and I just think out of the box there is no contest. (I know the the Medi looks good after a list of mods...)

Here are a few pics of mine with a Wayne head test...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I think he did the neck mod like I did it for IM. You can split the neck at the seam and you will see that the socket and balljoints are all inserted into the mold. It's a modular approach and you can just remove the rubber socket and to result in a bigger and deeper (this is going to ruin me) hole resulting in the neck sitting lower. To reverse it I don't even glue the neck together so I could at anytime reinsert the parts and glue and it be as good as new

Sorry tried to copy&paste the pic from imageshack but just don't work on the ipad

Now were getting somewhere! (Was that so hard?)

I still don't know enough to do it myself, but it sounds hopeful. :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

except i snipped some parts IN THE NECK PIECE to make it go down deeper and used double sided tape on the bottom of the neck to make it stay and not pop off. w00t w00t!
