I don't think they should have released a whole new figure if the body wasn't going to be changed - the should have sold the new headsculpts on their own and the new accessories so we could upgrade our exisiting V1

Yeah, in an ideal world! But it depends on whether the electronics are housed in the body or the sonar head - my money's on the body.

It'd make sense that they are situated inside the body, otherwise, it'll look bad to open up the head from the back to replace batteries ;P. But I do think they should sell some accessories separately so people with V.1 can also have these upgrades.

50/50, the functional electronics are in the head, the power source and on/off switch mechanisms will be in they body. One of the Toy Hunters shots showed a wire running down from the back of the sonar head to the upper body, just like the Predator bio mask setup.

Exactly. Electronics as in circuit, batteries etc. in the body; the lights and all that in the head.

Um, a hatch where his ass is? I dunno - no doubt there'd be an external on/off switch somewhere like IM & a little compartment for the batteries......

I would imagine the batteries/on-off switch etc. would be located in the upper back area:

That would make sense but if it's in there that might explain the rod we saw from the previous photos going up below the cowl.

Though if they keep that rod in place for it to light up it'll looks seriously goofy for photos when the cape is on. It'll look like he'll have this huge hunch. Or wearing a bomber jacket on part of his back :s

Though if that has changed by then... even if it's behind those parts it's still got to go inside the body to hide any wires etc and link to the neck for it to light up. Reckon they would go the complex route?... I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm afraid you're mistaken. It's a simple question of how it gets from A to B without ruining the looks or creating complications for accessing and changing the part out.

You'll notice though, the head is actually larger than the neck. But in the proto pics that gap is missing:

So who knows what the final set up will look like!?

Looking a the SDCC pics I think I'm gonna hold off to see how it looks in person before I decide wether to get this or not. Then if I like it wait for the DCD shipment.
