I already have all the HT Bats figures except the TDK version. The question is if it's worth shelling out a lot of bucks for V1 version when everybody says that the DX version is far superior.
I regret not getting the original TDK V1 back in the day despite having two DX Batman figures.
Other than completeing the line by having every figure, I could find other merit in owning one. I know the cowl headsculpt isn't accurate but there's just something really cool about it, it's unique. You'd also have an alternate Bruce Wayne head that's different from the OC TDK Wayne sculpt, something the DX doesn't have
Hmm, what else? The body is bulky, sure, but like Maglor said you can achieve a bunch of poses that the DX simply can't do due to the suit. The figure is also made for the Batpod. I haven't seen a single photo of the DX on the Batpod. From my experience the DX is just too static to be able to get on that thing.
There's also the box. I quite like the original box design of the OC, V1 Joker and TDK Batman not to mention the cool "Why So serious" message on the window.
So yeah, if it wasn't so expensive, I'd buy one even though I have two DX figures. Previously I wasn't too fond of it, not because of how it looked but because I just didn't like the TDK suit. At that point I had a Takara and a OC TDK as well as the Mattel TDK figures so that was enough for me. This was way before the DX mind you so it wasn't about improvements at all, just no interest. It was also around the time where I was more interested in TDK Joker (Bank Robber Joker) so Batman kind of just got lost in the deck.
Looking back though, I should have definitely got one. It's a good figure.
Now, should you buy it for the prices it goes for now? I wouldn't. It's definitely not "worth it" seeing how expensive it is. The DX is even more ridiculous.
