I agree. The Medicom Batman figure in my opinion is amazing. I dont understand why alot dont like it
when i see this pic:
it reminds me totally of magnuz shot of the medicom:
it shows how accurate and beautiful the medicom is. unbelieavable how they nailed this figure and all the other figures are looking horrible...

With repaints and modifications, or with good photography, it can look good, but most of the "on your shelf" photos of the unmodified figure have looked kind so so.

I own this figure and think its pretty amazing. But the paint apps on the actual mouth area are not nearly as good as hot toys. The only problem with medicom (as we all know) is the actual height.

I don't even care about the height, the factory shape of the head, the very toy looking paint on his face and the finish to his suit just doesn't look right, better body proportions, more accurrate placement of designs in the armor and the wire in the cape.
v1, DX and Medicom all have their flaws, fortunately there's 3 options that should satisfy everyone with one of them. For me, the DX combines the positives of Medicom's figure and HT's first TDK figure and brings in some new plusses not seen yet.

I disagree. I didnt modify mine at all with the exception of switching capes and I think it looks great. I will admit the mouth area isnt great but overall its much better than so so even without modifications

I shouldn't say so-so, DCD is so-so, Medicom's is pretty good, but of the 3 available, the DX looks to me like the only one worth the money it costs.

So if someone were to pose the HT TDK BM in a similar pose in the dark it would still loose out to Medicom when most of the details are lost?
Considering that a real person under different static settings could look drastically different depending on lighting ( yes no matter what lighting, I am still overweight but some proper lighting, camera angles and poses can hide all that in front of the camera) I am sure each figure also has good and bad angles. There is really no clear cut winner for the figure itself but only winning pictures people can take (Is Magnuz's shot really of a figure cause that is an amazing shot). Just remember in a movie all lighting, angles and poses are tightly controlled to satisfy Nolan so it would not surprise me that the real batman may has his chubby sides too
Again I do wish I could justify buying the medicom as well but based on all the pictures I have seen here so far the HT looks most life like out of the box in a majority of them, especially the bad pictures. Besides I have a gutt so who am I to judge Batman

What sold me on the Medicom was the abs area, the scale of the belt and the boots are stellar. Hot Toys boots look like advanced wellies with steel toe caps like workman's boots. I could see the potential in the figure that needed fixed. So thats why I bought it. All it just needed was some love.
Until Hot Toys fixes the abs, and the belt size everything scale wise will look off causing people to question it. There's so many parts either too thin or too big. Causing a huge imbalance of the looks. That is why Medicom's looks so light and slender. It's the correct scale all over. Now I'm not saying the Medicom is 100% perfect with the mods. It's not but it's still a vast improvement. It crap big time standing on it's own. It lacks good articulation big time and it sometimes reminds me of the Takara with arm movement. Very rigid and pops back. If I was to buy the Medicom and do no modifications, not a chance would I buy it!
There is one other advantage to the Medicom figure though, I don't have to pick off every piece of lint that sticks so easily to Hot Toys. Especially Hot Toys boots, grippy grippy grippy!
I also felt the rubber on HT TDK suit is too grey. When it's standing next to the Batman Begins suit there is quite a difference in black. Almost looking washed out or faded/dry. It's still a good looking figure, I still have no regrets with v1 but there is so many issues. As we know and some others accept these parts and wont admit it.

No, the difference is there's fanboys and people who are just honest and it's the fanboys that try to drill into the people that are honest because god forbid somebody said something they did not like!

I'm curious how this thread got resurrected anyway. Weeks ago or at least a good month this thread was dead with no interest.
Everything had been covered and analyzed to death with measuring. Nearly at 200 pages.

I opened talk up again because I got a Mark 3 figure this week, and I didn't realize how the light up function in his head was setup, I didn't realize the light was in the ball joint, so I assumed with Batman, since only the Sonar head lit, that you'd have to put a wire into the Sonar head to connect it to the power source in the body, but now I realize it'll probably be like the Iron Man figures with the light in the ball joint and you just shut it off when you have the regular head on.

I think we're all guilty of obsession at one point or another. I myself have complained about the lips on the opened mouth expression being curled upward a degree to much, making it look more like smiling Batman.
