Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm pretty sure it's life sized too. Wrap your head around that for your nightmares...

Poo-face Supes FTW! :yess:

That thing scares me.

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:rotfl You can almost hear the grunts.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

It's not!

I don't remember where, but I've already seen this masterpiece somewhere and it was marked as a silicon statue!

I saw this thing at Comic Con. Scared the ____ out of me then, too.

That's by Mike Hill who did the Alex Ross Supes.

It looks good from the top to below the nose. The mouth area looks a little off and makes him look like a creepy molester. :D

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Well, we all want him in our house since we're buying the HT version! :D

Man, I've just realized I'm creepy! :lol

We're buying a toy which is a rough, albeit high quality, approximation of Superman as portrayed by Christopher Reeve, scaled down by a factor of six.

I think you're safe (unless there's something you're not telling us).

Rhetorical. :lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

That's pretty amazing...!

These are structurally different, nothing to do with angle or lighting.
If the curl is different, the head is different.

S shield looks very close to the HT version. I bet they had a copy of this in their reference images.

:goodpost:

If you look at that cover and the linework you can tell they had another artist re-draw the superman suit, the style is way dif. DC didn't like the way Jack drew the costume, esp. the S. He had his own way of doing it.

That is some CSI work right there.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'll happily eat my humble pie if its the same sculpt :wave

Same here. I do it all the time. :)

Ya know what chaps, with some of you, I dare say the sculptor himself would come on here and say that this not a new sculpt and you would still hold your ground.

I really don't care enough to argue about it.
Being an artist carries little weight against such dogged action figure lovers who apparently have better anatomical knowledge than...well anybody who doesn't think this is a new sculpt.

Carry on then lads! ;)

I don't want to agrue just for the sake of arguing, but I kind of feel like you are trying to tell us the sky is green. Do you really not see that these "S" curls are different? See Rory's post:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Also, the new curl is a much more complete "S".
