Great way to display the kryptonite! :rock

This figure is the tits. Definitely worth the agonizing wait, and then some.

What are you using for a base?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Got my Supes. Looks pretty good. I had a little spot of the perspiration rub on mines forehead. I was able to fix this with a little very light rubbing with the corner of a folded over piece of 2000 grit sandpaper. It's about 85% gone now, so you can't really notice it. You have to be patient and very light, cause you don't want to rub through to the plastic. I imagine this would work on Bruce Wayne too. The point is to scuff up the rub so that it blends in better. Fine grit sandpaper will do that without removing much paint, cause it's used for various stages of polishing painted surfaces, like polishing a model car.

So, there's your tip for the day.

Sounds scary, but good to know. :)

It's not as bad as it sounds. The grit is very fine. I've done car models where you have to sand down the paint job you just airbrushed on (I think they have to sand real cars after they're painted too). You start gritty and work your way into finer grits, and so on until the car is smooth as silk. You can sand pretty rough with really fine sandpaper, and not instantly go through the paint.

With this, you're more dragging than pressing the paper across just the shiny spot, to remove the sheen it has. When the area is scuffed, it doesn't reflect much light anymore, and all but disappears. If done right, you really have to look for the spot to find any trace of the rub. So, you're not trying to remove anything, as much as scuff just the tiny spot where the rub is.

Hey Marf, don't mean to point it out but your "S" is really high on his chest. Or is it just me?

Fantastic pics Carthut I see I wasn't the only one who took a risk with the Mattel Superman, judging from the crystal podium :lol

Is the first pic a mirror shot or did you get Two like I did. :clap

Whos the tranny on the right :dunno

Great shots everyone!! SOO many awesome shots in this thread, to many to quote, thats for day sure.

Got my Superman on Wednesday, no way I could wait til Sunday to open it, absolutley love it! Perfect figure in my opinion. Could really do without the big clunky base adding extra cost to the figure, but otherwise couldn't be any happier!

I agree. The base has a large footprint. It also makes the box too big imo. It could have been a lot smaler without that base. Storing space is an issue for some collectors.

Yeah I am wondering the same thing, please let us know Marf, I like it.

Thanks.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Got mine yesterday...amazing fig...with that said the base looks cool, but the pieces suck getting in...also one snap on the cape is pretty visible and even after a bit of futzing its still noticible, but it's no biggie, the HS is what grabs your attention not the snap.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

2 days and STILL NO Superman! UPS keeps showing up to deliver him when there is nobody home to sign for him. And they won't accept a signed UPS notice to leave him. Fingers crossed for today.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Recieved mine yesterday. Beautifully executed in every way. Even the packaging was outstanding. Body is a little stockier than Chris Reeve but it looks fantastic on the figure. Even though this is a fairly simple release as far as accessories etc., this probably has my vote for figure of the year. And I don't even like the Donner Superman movies.
It's amazing how dated that Routh figure is. The tranny comment someone made doesn't seem so far from right. Too bad. Another awful movie but Routh was not bad as Superman.
