Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

If you're talking to me, then yes. I didn't suggest it was DC? Just that Tobey's Spidey was a higher-class character, such as Reeve Superman and Keaton Batman.

Christopher Reeve: Superman
Michael Keaton: Batman

Classic iconic roles that will go down in cinematic history.

Tobey Maguire? I think not.
:lol

Don't pick on tobey maguire. He was awesome in Seabiscuit! Never seen a human actor play a horse so well!..... Oh wait... What?.. He didn't play the horse??? Oh dear!

I wouldn't say his acting is wooden, but, if he does any theatre work, it's probably as the stage! Or a backdrop! Lol

A statement that no one can argue with. Arguably the two biggest movies that made "comic book movies" possible for today's generation.

For our generation yes. However I think Bale did a pretty good job honoring the Batman franchise. For people in their 20s and under they would say Bale. It would be tough following up after him. As with Ledger's Joker, I dare any actor to touch that role.

Wow,...That's just insulting. Jack didn't deserve that.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I thought the first two Xman films were great .

It can be had for cheaper than that. Just do a completed search on ebay.

I drew this for fun, and the second one I used this figure for a model-obviously!

I tried to throw Keaton in there but he's harder...

let's just say i am not in my twenties and saw batman in the theatres in 89 (i am of that generation). i haven't watched 89 bats in more than twenty years and have no interest in seeing it again.

bale is my batman, with kevin conway coming in second and adam west (God love him) a short distant third.

but then i never did like jack's joker either, so i am probably in the minority.

and i'm sure man of steel will be lovely, but christopher reeve will always and forever be my superman.

: D

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'd go with Bale too.
I saw 89 batman at the cinema when I was 12.
But it's all a bit embarrassing now. Too cheesy.
Nolan hit the nail right on the head with how a modern batman should be.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Keaton and Jack invented their respective roles.
Bale and Ledger perfected it.
I like Nolan's Batman much better than Burton's but it would be unfair to say one was better than the other. What was cheesy now was cool then. The same will be said when Man of Steel comes out. However Reeves will always be Superman for me.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

actually, keaton bats was pretty cheesy then.

and i would argue that neither keaton, nicholson, bale, ledger, etc. invented nor perfected these roles. there are nearly 75 years worth of batman & joker interpretations. there will likely be 75+ more.

the next actor to play the joker doesn't need to "top" ledger. he just needs to make it his own.

which is why i am sure the new superman will be just fine in spite of the big shoes he's trying to fill. i know people gave routh a lot of crap, but he did just fine too.
