Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Id much rather buy the figure and pay less for it.

What some of you fail to realize is that the charity is what made it possible for us to get this.

:lecture

Happily paying the extra cash for this reason.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm always happy to donate to charities so its all good :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

ditto. I've spent more than what this figure cost on selfish buys so i'm more than ok with the price.

I would like to think a good portion going to charity and not pennies.

I'd be glad to fork over extra if a healthy percentage went to the C&D Reeve Foundation. I wish Warner Brothers would do the same on the sale of the new "Anthology" DVD/Blu box set.

I do only like the first and second movie from the saga...the rest...oh my God what a shame...

I have been a member of sideshow for almost a year now, but never made a purchase until now with the EX. Will I still be eligible for the first order discount? If so how do I get it?

If you have signed up for the news letter, just type in "welcome" in the coupon portion at checkout......

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm considering getting two. If I really like a figure, I'll get an extra. I don't even need to keep it in the box, I just like having an extra "just in case."

I've got upwards of 10 or 15 of my favorite Minimates. No rational reason why. They aren't worth anything, and I only display one, but. . .I like having extras.

I'm getting 3 - 1 exclusive and 2 regular. The exclusive to keep in box and the other will get used for a intermediate Clark (until HT releases one) and I'll be able to use the suit and base for a Welling, Routh or other Supes.

Aren't charities supposed to be optional? Thats why they are called charities and not taxes.

It's part of the Likeness License deal, a great cause and one Dana and Chris committed their lives to. I imagine it's less than 25 per figure and more than worth it. :D

That's pretty selfish. I'm betting this was a condition of the Reeve likeness so deal or don't buy. :monkey1

That's not entirely fair. If we were donating to the Reeve fund on our own and separate from this purchase, then we could easily write it off on our tax return. Lumping the donation in with the cost of the figure makes it difficult/impossible to get the charitable contribution tax write-off. I don't think you can write off a Hot Toys collectible action figure, or even a portion of the cost.

Or can you?

I'm okay with it, but it would have been much better to get credit for this donation, just for the sake of my taxes!

Spend one day in a wheel chair with ever part of your body tied down except your head and use it to do everything else the rest of your body can’t. Imagine how it would be to spend years that way or the rest of your life, then come back to me and say the donation isn’t worth you paying $10 or $15 more.:pfft:

Have to agree man... jeez, and extra $10-$20 on a 1/6 figure is pretty much nothing these days. Hell, if you're that hung up about it consider the free shipping (on the regular) to be your tax incentive :lol
