Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

It all depends on whether HT wants to do a STM and/or Supes line. If this is a one time CR thing, it will be a HUUUUGE open ended P.O. for months to come.

If they extend the line, look for more CR figs, and new Jor-El with black suit. They already have a head mold to tweak and the suit patterns so it's no big thing.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The ONLY thing I _____ed about was Sideshow telling everybody they get free shipping for this figure and renigging on it for the exclusive pieces. That has nothing to do with donations to charity and everything to do with a company not honoring their word.

Actually it wasn't. You specifically said we were being "cheap & selfish" for raising questions about the donations built in to the product b/c some of us feel they'd be impossible to write off on taxes as others claimed.

So take that sucka! BAM! Suck it! :bunnydanc:bunnydanc:bunnydanc:bunnydanc:bunnydanc

He was very limited even back in the day...
I had a hard time getting it but scored one from Vikingplayground in 2008...
you won't believe the price...

$105.00 plus shipping!! :panic:

As you said, it's gonna be a lot harder to find now,
and much more expensive... I'm glad I got one!

I do hope though, that HT revisits it, with a Black Suit version!

2008? Wow -- was it really that long ago?

It does seem likely that HT will do another one now, if they still can.

I think nam meant to say renegging. :lol :D

Even mini-Supes is a critic! Probably been listening to too much damn Morrissey, making him a Negative Nancy. :D

I have long felt the reason I wasn't much of a fan of the Superman movies was Superman's lack of a massive quiff.

Whatever, yankee doodle. :wave

All you have to do is take the receipt to your accountant or H&R Block or whoever does your taxes and explain that proceeds from the purchase of this figure went to charity. :wink1:

I think nam meant to say renegging. :lol :D

:horror What'd spellcheck change it to?! :lol

renigging. Not sure what that means.:lol

1. To fail to carry out a promise or commitment: reneged on the contract at the last minute.
2. Games To fail to follow suit in cards when able and required by the rules to do so.
v.tr.

n.
The act of reneging.

I spelled it wrong too. :lol

Yeah, I went back and fixed it. I initially spelled it how you had it and spellcheck said it was wrong so I just let it auto-correct it.

Now I'm gonna have to pay attention to what FF changes the words to. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Not sure how they can justify the $209 asking price for a figure that comes with no more than their $149 Spiderman, who is also about $30 overpriced. Hot Toys seems to be getting really carried away with their prices.
Not only is it the donation aspect, HT have stated numerous times that a lot is behind the pricing of a figure, not just what you get with it. Likeness rights, materials etc.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I did a "flex payment" pre-order for the exclusive today from Sidehow using the link here from the board. I like the kryptonite on the chain as the exclusive, but still think they could have done a better exclusive. Maybe some clear and the one green crystal to go with the figure stand? Or how about one of the Daily Planet newpapers with Lois Lane's interview with Superman? So I guess Hot Toys will do a separate Clark Kent figure? I think some of us were expecting the "2-in-1" deal like they did with the last Superman Returns figure with both Superman and Clark Kent. But I guess that would have been what....$400? :dunno

Overall I'm happy with this figure. But I still have my custom figure that to me, has a better likeness of Christopher Reeve. The one I posted over in Moe's suit thread. It has parts from his outfit, some parts made by Les Walker, and a custom Les Walker painted Reeve head sculpt. :yess:
