Well said. I had a few thoughts about this as well. These so called AP's don't fulfil their purpose anymore. At least not those that get handed out during contests and so on.

And in regards of 'value', I don't think the SSC AP's are worth more than the pieces of the final run, UNLESS they would be REAL AP's. But, it seams they are just the same PF, except for the 'AP' on the base.

The true AP's are those that Sideshow puts up on ebay as fund raisers.

First of all, the issue only cropped up in the last 20-30 pages, so the total length of the thread is immaterial. Secondly, what do you expect them to say? I think they're just going to ignore the problem.

I think it may be a bit premature to be canceling things (of course, I don't know when this is shipping).

The outfit on this may very well turn out too red, but how many times have we seen early pictures in which something was off, only to have it not be an issue when more pictures come out?

Even the Indy PF has been a roller coaster ride of "the jacket looks green" and "his skin tone is too dark", when it doesn't look that way at all in person. I suggest keeping a level head on this matter and see what develops.

The difference between this and Indy is that many were saying it wasn't green, but was photographing slightly green. Here it looks red in the pictures and the owner is saying it's red.

would'nt it be cheaper to stop sending them out and fix the problem in house? instead of letting the masses cancel their p-o's?

WOW, 95 PAGES AND SIDESHOW STILL HAS NOT SAID A THING. :nono

But do you really think they are going to say something? The only solution they could give at this point is KEEP your statue in a cave for...ten years? and you'll see how the red color darkens a lot :D

I'd like to see some more 'in hand' pics before passing judgement on this.

While im not a bad guy collector anyway so it doesnt affect me, I think we need to see some more pics to compare and see if all pieces are the the brighter red cloth or if its the flash etc making it look brighter.
x :peace

Well..I have him on order and have no intention of cancelling. I completely agree with he people who say that you should be able to just take these high end statues out of the box and display them withouit having to make any changes yourself as thats what you pay your $$ for.The main reason I'm not going to cancel is that the sculpt, pose and base are fantastic with this boy and I feel that toning down the red will not be a major job. The PF is just to hard to resist even with the santa outfit.

...from what it sounds like, they are silently shipping these out w/o any process warning unlike the rogue and dead. :nono

Then maybe they'll ignore all my cancels. It's become too risky to order, and not get exactly what you paid for aside from a few of their lines. How come GG,Bowen, and near every other company rarely has problems like SS has? But their CS is still #1...their saving grace.

Normally I wouldn't jump the gun and cancel. But in this case, the pics are clearly pointing out the screw up. No, this isn't just slightly off - this statue is F'd up. There's really no other way to put it. Candy coating it isn't going to help in any way. I'm just glad I was able to cancel before the thing shipped out.

I really hope some miracle happens and they are able to address the issue, because the sculpt and paint are incredibly awesome. ....but honestly I think that's a pipe dream at this point.

Ive just cancelled :monkey2

The problems with this line seem never ending.
I only have 1 LOTR PF and thats Lurtz. Ive had most of the others on order but then have had to cancel as they look either nothing like the prototype or nothing like the character. I do have some hope (well, a glimmer) Sideshow will get the berzerker right.
I dont know how they get some things so right and others so wrong. I really hope they can fix the red material as i would probably snap it up again in a heartbeat but really am doubtful :banghead

Does anyone know how they managed to rectify the Stealth IM and why they cant just do the same for this PF?

Paint and tailored outfits IMO are two completely differnt areas. I don't see them correcting an outfit even iif it is just a little tunic but who knows.

Don't like anymore. Sculpt is great but that red cloth is a piece of ^^^^^.

And no thanks to SS. If it hadn't have been for the guys who posted those early pic's we'd have all been in for quite a shock this Christmas. :horror This is our own real version of "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
