I agree with something Matt said. If the actual costume was this color and NL changed it to what we see. Is that wrong? I dont think so. I mean people in the SW section gripe that they want it to match the costume exactly well if thats what happened here why is that wrong?

It's wrong when you don't update your web site with photos of the production piece before it ships, Josh. If NL stepped in and said "Hey, you've got to change this." Fine. I can live with that. The bottom line is a lot of us don't like the change and it should have been brought to our attention before they started charging credit cards. Those of us on Flexpay really got the shaft. Because we'll pay a fee if we cancel, or pay if we keep the order and then return it. Damned if you, damned if you don't. And I for one don't appreciate being in a situation like that. I don't want to come off as bitter, but times are hard. If I'm not 100% satisfied with the end result then I think I have a right to voice a complaint that's all. Nothing wrong with a healthy debate. :duff

I agree the site should have been updated. Thats the only thing right now though I can agree with being totally wrong. Obviously its not the same color but we don't know why. The pics Matt or Dave posted of the actual costume seem to match more the final piece. Therefore it looks to be more accurate The miststep was not a note in the PB or on the production page. Talking about the change is fine I've not said otherwise.

Who cares what it's called -- the point is that it's not the same as on the prototype.

Its not but it pretty much appears to be the same as the actual costume. :) Do you want the production to be wrong and match the proto or accurate and match the actual costume?

Edit:IC if people are going to call it a color they should at least be accurate with the term. Just a thought.

The red shirt color doesn't look far off from the red coke can. It is not look burgundy or a dark red, either of which I could have lived with. The color of the clothing needed to match the painted clothing on the arms/legs, or at least come close, this red looks horrible and will likely ruin the piece for me.

I also don't understand why they didn't use real leather, that is what was shown used on the prototype. The cost wouldn't have been that much, and these are supposed to be PREMIUM $300 figures. They could have even used the exact same material as Lurtz and I would have been happy.

This is feeling like a bait and switch scam to me. If I had ordered a pair of $300 brown leather shoes and they showed up as red pleather, I'd demand my money back and report them to the BBB.

I'm going to wait until mine shows up, and see how Sideshow responds before I make my final judgment, but these pictures are painting a grim outlook.

Admittedly the proto looked better. And even if this was a change from the licensee, I'd say that they should have updated the website photos.

But it does appear that this matches the costume as it actually was, even if it wasn't how it appeared on screen.

Certainly the sculpting and impact of the entire piece is not diminished by this difference - and I do think that once people have it in hand it will be almost a non-issue.

In typical SS apologist form you are of course kidding yourself. It doesn't even remotely match the prototype or the actual costumes used in the film, and certainly not their website photo's. You can apologize for, make excuses for, or try and justify SS all you want in your typically biased fashion but that's not going to change the fact that SS pulled a fast one on us concerning this particular piece.

Once again, despite all the physical evidence in the world, it's Josh to SS's rescue. give it up, they're not gonna give you a job.

I'm still keeping mine. I love the sculpt and the painting on it. I think it looks really good. However, I also hope sideshow will look at the red outfit and make a change before the rest start to ship out. I prefer the look of the one displayed at the comic con over the more redish material.

:Sigh ...

If they weathered down the bright red, I may have kept mine. But I want it to look just like that.

Well after looking at the few more pics that have been posted it doesn't look really bright red to me anymore, but it's still obviously red. Maybe it was switched because that's what the actual color of the costume was, if that's the case then at least there was a legitimate reason behind it. Honestly the more I look at the pics the less bothered I am by it and I probably wouldn't have minded much if I had kept my order. But I'm also not that bothered that I canceled either, even though it is a great statue overall. I'm just glad I'm not a completionist like other people, cause I still plan on getting the Berserker, and Lurtz also sometime down the road. And who knows I might get the MO later also, but I won't be heartbroken if I don't.

Then you clearly don't understand the term. :)

They are subsisting an inferior product than the one they advertised to be sold. It looks to me like Sideshow used/using blatantly false advertising and appear to be just short of scam artists. Does that make you feel better?

Either way, as all of the canceled orders and upset posters attest, this is not a minor issue for a lot of people. If this doesn't get addressed, I will be canceling my Berserker order as well, and from what I've read, I won't be alone. Screw-ups like this could very easily destroy the entire line if enough people cancel.

If the product doesn't come close what is being advertised, I fail to see how that ISN'T the case.

Now matter how many little happy faces you put at the end of your one liners, you really do come off as condescending and a know-it-all.

Bait and switch = showing/advertising one thing and then delivering something else. I think Badvermin has a valid point. I'm not suggesting SS was out to perform a bait and switch, but fact remains we are now getting what we were shown.
