Well that's BS he tried to get Bosh to go there but Bosh said no, and who can blame him....why the heck would anyone wanna play in Cleveland when you could play in: NYC,Chi,or Miami.

Gilbert called LBJ "disloyal". What a load of crap, he was loyal to himself and his family and thats all he has to be loyal too.

I am just sayin:

They stated last night he DID NOT pursue free agents to Cleveland but the Raptors were willing to do a sign and trade to the Cavs which Bosh nixed.

I hope people don't have such a shallow view of loyalty being to self and family. I understand a pecking order exists but IMO loyalty to religion, community, country and fellow man falls in the mix somewhere. Otherwise, the person is quite selfish ie Lebron :dunno

his image has taken a massive hit (not on the scope of Tiger... but still).

Correctamundo, massive hit.

but please Neil, leave the Yankees outta this. No such thing as buying championships, you can buy the players, but you cannot buy the title.

Not only did LeBron fail to become the saviour of Cleveland sports, but now if he wins a championship he might possibly be considered like Scottie Pippen or James Worthy instead of Michael Jordan or Magic. Obviously those are still great comparisons, but its not like being compared to a top 3 all time player.

As a (former) fan of Les Expos-- I refuse to leave the Yankees out of it. They are the perfect example of buying the best players from small market teams who can't afford to compete with said contracts and thus the Yankees (who are in the hunt EVERY year) are a perfect example of buying championships. It's just the way of modern athletics-- you're right in that it takes players to win championships, but if you can't afford to sign those players because other teams are throwing wads of money at them then you're never really going to be there on a consistent basis. A perfect example is the Florida Marlins. They have one good year and then they lose all of their good players to reboot and try again. Unfortunately the Cavs (and Raptors for that matter) are rebooting. Name the last season the Yankees rebooted. :wave

I'm sure pretty much every NBA Legens feels the way Chuck feels...

Reggie Miller said something very similar. Lebron is playing the role of Pippen to Wade's Jordan which will be Lebron's legacy. He is underachieving on his potential playing second fiddle. Obviously not being the man will tarnish his leagacy but who can argue assuming they reach full potential. If they fail to become a dynasty or win a championship karma strikes back.

I guess you are gonna be pissed when i tell you the YANKEES all but signed CLIFF LEE.

OK Laker fans,

Lebron will take care of Fisher and Artest single handedly (Realistically LeBron is 1.5-2 regular players)....there is NO arguing that.

Wade will give Bryant fits...pretty much cancel each other out

And Bosh will have Gasol flopping like the weak Spaniard he is.

Who's left, Bynum, he is finished by his own injuries...so please don't include him, he was about as effective as Chris Dudley.

Kobe's wife, "You know the heat gon whoop you azz next year." Kobe, "Well I can try really hard and make that mean face everytime i hit a jumper. Hopefully i show up in game 7, this year."

IN all seriousness, the LAKERS have GREAT team, but they are gonna have their hands full with this Tremendous Three.

Ladies and gentelmen, meet the bandwagoneer.. Lets see their chemistry, bench the rest of the team before you become the judge and jury..How dare you say that about the World Champions.. and a huge LOL at your Gasol and Bynum comments..Gasol is much better than jump shooting Bosh and give Bynum and Kobe credit for gritting it out w/ injury. Kobe's shooting hand and Bynum's simple meniscus tear, easy fix, yet very painful to play through.. BTW, enjoy your lame (as always) Knicks.. Stoudemire is much more of a health liabilty than Bynum foo.

The Lakers are the only team you have worth rooting for, so i will give you your day in the sun, or day in the house creeping at girls in the sun.

KNICKS are horrible, i know that, they've been that way for 10 years, nothing new for me.

I'm gonna go mena my feelings now, they are hurt bad!

Face it the dude's got bad knee's, this wasn't and wont be the last time his knee(s) give out.

How many chances in a career would Lebron ever get to make a decision like this again? To play with friends who just happen to be top players in the leauge? You're crazy if you think Clevland would be loyal to Lebron when his time was up. They'd drop him to the next team without a second thought. Good for him for making a sound business decision.

Meniscus isn't serious.. Other 2 times were real injuries resulting more in wrong place at wrong time, landing bad on Odoms foot and Kobe flying into his locked knees.. Certainly not an Ironman.. We'll see.

We'll always have Frazetta..:1-1:

yea he's no iron man but heck all he really needs to do is show up in the playoffs, Kobe and the 2 bigs will be a lock for the finals again, that's my prediction atleast and yes I hate the lakers. Credit where credit is due though.

Yup, Lebron is now Scottie 2.0

Don't get me wrong I love Pip he helped us get 6 rings. But I'd rather be MJ.

He also looks like Karl Malone and Charles Barkley scrambling for a championship at the end of their career, except that LeBron is doing it 10 years before they did.

To not speak to any of the teams involved but the Heat before the big announcement was reprehensible.

:lecture

No they're not. They've got the Browns and the Leafs respectively. :lol

He wasn't honest in that he knew when he walked off that court after losing to the Celtics that he wasn't going to resign. All this talk of flip-flopping is just talk. Honesty would have been to let the Cavaliers know the minute he knew-- and to do that behind closed doors and not in front of ESPN cameras (although they were notified minutes before the live SPECIAL-- how nice.). Cleveland in no way came off as bad looking as LeBron-- his image has taken a massive hit (not on the scope of Tiger... but still). I hope the Heat lose in the first round to the Hawks or Magic. :rotfl

Are you a mind reader? You know exactly what Lebron was thinking? Thats ridiculous, you think its easy for a guy in that situation to leave his home town knowing how bad they would be crushed? Ok, hes no perfect, yea, he has a ego, so what? Some of these ppl are taking this way too personally.

Reading back a little, how are teams buying titles in the NBA? Last time I checked, the Heat only have 1 title, so hardly buying anything, this was just a one in a million free agency get together, you wont see it again for awhile. SA won 4 titles and they are a small market, so anyone that says only the big markets compete for titles is blind. When was the last time NY even made the playoffs?. Yeah, LA and Boston have always been fortunate in Sports, but there have been plenty of other small market teams to win.
