no matter what, i will never give lebron or that team one single ounce of respect
Arrogant, overexposed, and unlikable? Sure. But it's hard not to have some respect for the talent on their team. You don't get as far into the playoffs as they have (and as Lebron did in Cleveland essentially on his own) without some real skills.

If they can get it back to OKC, I wouldn't be surprised if OKC still won it all.

:hi5: Same here. LeBron clearly bought his way into a championship, there will be a double asterisk on his championship this season.

He thinks he will be somehow gaining respect by winning but when people will start comparing all time greats, he will always be known as "great player, but couldn't win it all on his own" like other true greats have, so he wont be highly regarded.

In fact, winning, I think, will somehow make him even more hated. His championship will be a curse. Mark my words.

So much hate and so bitter. I feel sorry for you. The hate you are holding on to is subsiding all around you yet you cling to it.

Fact is the only stars to really win on their own were Olajuwon (in his first--afterwards had Drexler) and Dirk last year (although his team was deep and stacked with veterans). Furthermore Lebrons averaging 30-10-5 this postseason... Only been done one other time... Guess who? Not Jordan.. Elgin Baylor in the freakin 60s. Enough with the bull____. Lebron deserves his redemption and is proving himself right. You need good players to win.

Oh and what happened to all the "Heat supporting cast sucks" talk? How about Battier, Chalmers, Cole, Haslem and Miller now? heats bench has been better than OKCs even with the "6th man of the year"

Here, let me help you Jstep and Bodie.... Enjoy!

having talent and commanding respect are 2 totally different things

Is it? Just the other day, ESPN questioned who the most hated athlete is in America, LeBron or Tiger? There is no subsiding...

How many of those stars failed on one team and had to coax two other stars to join him on another?

They still suck. Battier showed up in 2 game and Chalmers has had 1 good game. The other player's impact are negligible. Fact is, OKC has underplayed more than anything. All those games have been winnable but OKC's youth has bitten them in this series. Missed free throws and uncharacteristic turnovers are especially apparent. The spotlight is getting to them much like it has gotten to LeBron these past years.

Why a Super Young team like The thunder has never won it all. Everyone these days is obsessed with youth but having an entire team full of under 25 year olds isn't a good thing. the series isn't over yet but we'll see. Also I find funny that people here think it's just me who has these theories on the refs, meanwhile every other message board I go to that has an NBA sections generally accepts these things.

It depends on what kind of respect you are talking about. If opposing teams don't go into games respecting Lebron's abilities, then I guarantee they're gonna pay for it. If you mean respect as a human being or whatever, then that's another issue.

considering that i do not play for an opposing team or coach an opposing team...

Yeah, you gotta respect Lebron's skills. I remember watching one of his games when he was in HS and called my Dad and said this guy has "it". In reference to that special kind of talent to be a superb basketball player. However, the information and actions that have come out the last two years says IMO a lot about the man. It's turned me from a fan to a guy who has lost all respect for him as a whole.

People are gonna _____ and complain, blindly defend and excuse, troll and be trolled no matter what here. Sometimes I think bodie was onto something deleting a previous NBA thread.

TBH, I wouldn't mind this thread getting locked or deleted IF the Heat win. The haters will just troll to try and ruin it for ppl that want to celebrate the victory cause they have nothing better to do. I think this is the only sports thread I've seen a lot of posters that would troll a team/player for winning a title just to be annoying. Says more about the posters I guess.

Of course, that's IF the Heat win, I don't believe in the stupid ass series stats in the playoffs of any sport. If OKC wins, they have a bit of an adv going back home for 2.

I'm a Celtics fan. I can't stand Lebron...but he has been playing great. I'll give him that. Was hoping OKC would step it up in the series, but I think the Heat are going to win their first title in the LeBron era. If they do, they earned it.
