Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Can't say for sure since its not a clear pic.

But the paint on that face sculpt looks pretty terrible. I have the Neca LOTR Gandalf 18", and i'm not expecting HT or EB quality.. but that looks bad even in Neca standards. The shield is also plastic kids toy looking.

After seeing the 18" Predators and owning the new 1/4 Gollum figure, i thought they raised their game to new heights. Wasen't gonna get this anyways, but still dissapointed.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I doubt Hot Toys ventures into the 1/4 Marvel Movie license line. I think they will only stick with 1/6.

Nah, they officially announced it months ago. The only problem for them is finding time to actually make these figures.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Other than making him burnt and dirty, which would make the figure less marketable, I don't see how this could be any better for what it is, can't wait to see Iron Man.

I agree! Iron Man would be the *****! Seeing the prototype test shots its lookin good.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Why do they make only 7500 for each of these 2? The aftermarket price is going to be remarkably high but seeing that each is sold at $80, shouldn't they mass-produce them?

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

The ES is fine, all of their Predators have hung around at retail for plenty of time, unless you're pretty late to the game you should be able to get one no problem, and for NECA it's not worth the manufacturing cost to make too many and have them not sell.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

The only thing I don't get is why are his gloves dirty and worn, but everything else looks new and prestine? It's still nice weathering though, looks great, I really hope this line succeeds.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Looks more like Evans in the mask than HT's.

Yes it does.

I'm gutted there's no unmasked head, I'd love to see Kyle's shot at these actors.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Sounds like they're already preparing their excuses for why Hulk either won't be made or will be underscale.

''We're still working on the logistics of making Hulk. Think how big he'd have to be to stay in scale with his teammates''

I'm hoping they do him, he will of course be more expensive....maybe even 5,000 instead of 7,500 (quantities). But I think NECA will at least get a prototype done and see what the logistics are to release him.

I don't see NECA giving up on Hulk, but I do think there is a lot more to figure out with him than the rest of the figures.

It's not just how to articulate him and have it look nice being that he's 2/3 nude, it's also figuring out how you can package him to be efficient for shipping and stocking store shelves. The NECA Alien required some assembly. They're not afraid of large pieces, but doing Hulk in scale to the other figures would mean a 27" tall Hulk figure, that's a beast. I'm guessing they're probably experimenting with appearance, that they probably won't go full 1/4 scale, but how small can they make him before he doesn't work, and while you could photoshop images, I'm sure a company like NECA wants to work up even crude models just to see him with the other figures around it to get a feeling.

I don't see NECA as the type of company to come out and pre-load excuses for something not being done eventually, they seem like they're up font, yes we're doing it, no we're not, or we're not sure. They've already declared they're doing R&D towards Hulk, I think they plan to do him, and likely will, but have to figure out the way to execute it.

Personally, I'd be fine with him not being scale, just a nicely done Hulk figure at 18" tall with NECA's level of articulation would be an awesome collectible, and I think most folks getting any of these 1/4 scale Avengers would be pretty happy too.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Those figures are a great medium between mass markets toys and Hot Toys...they should have start with Iron Man though....He's the one who would have look the more realistic.

I agree with that. At least they are doing Iron Man next though.....he is gonna light up and all. The figure has the potential to look really high scale at a fraction of high scale prices (NECA said they will keep Iron Man under $100).
