Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Does he have bendy fingers? There's been no mention of interchangable hands, and the hands are seen in 2 different poses.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

We all collect for different reasons. I collect because I love everything I purchase. I hear a lot of, "I want the definitive version of insert name" being tossed around. So whenever the newer version comes around they put the older version up for sale. P2 is in that position right now. I hear that about T2 T-800. I would never sell the first version. I bought it because I loved it. Is it perfect? Hell no! Nothing wrong with either mentality.
I still have Art Asylum's 18" Bruce Lee.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I usually only sell or give something up because I need the money or something about the piece or what it's based on loses appeal to me. There's been things I've bought that I wasn't really excited about and after time, instead of keeping it around cuz I paid for it, I just get rid of it.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

And I get that.
I've been collecting forever, but I wouldn't consider my collection huge. I don't buy like some, where there are things on pre-order for the next 12 months and they are trying to figure out how to add something that was just announced. The last thing I bought were the lastest NECA Predators. I've been eye both T-800 figures and P2. I haven't decided yet.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I'm the same, and even more so now as my budget for collecting's gotten much tighter, I have to find ways to get 1 or 2 things that matter a lot, let alone something that's just a hype purchase. If NECA does Hulk, that'll be one I find a way to get.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

NECA is killing me right now with their larger Predator line. Luckily, they are not releasing them at break-neck speed and at insane prices.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

For what it is, I think this Captain America is fantastic. It looks great in my opinion. The likeness and head sculpt is better than Hot Toys (not the paint though).

I see a very solid figure and great potential with their Avengers line.

As for the Hulk, I wouldn't put it past NECA. Anyone remember the Toy Biz Balrog and all the production issues people had with making one in 1/12 scale? NECA pushed through and put out a great figure. I think they're quite capable of making the Hulk, even if you gotta assemble him at the torso or connect different limbs.

Yeah, I just bought my first one today brand new for $65. I got the Gort. It was between that or the Warrior Predator which if I like Gort enough, I will buy the warrior. I love the blue silver greenish like color on him.

I think most are forgetting that NECA doesn't just have access to The Avengers movie line and thats it, but also the entire Marvel comic book line of characters. That is what I am most excited for. As much as I like this movie cap version, a comic version of Cap would make me go bananas.:yess:

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Cap looks good, and I can't wait for iron man after seeing pics from his progress he will looks Awsome.

I will admit I don't collect many large scale figures, I have a few 12" figure and I have one hot toys figure which is the DX02 batman. Im more of a 6" figure collector like DCUC, Other than that I might get 1/4 iron man but I kinda hope they make some 6-7" figures of these like they are doing with their predator figures.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

The best think about any of these movie-related figures is that the figure's parts are all in proportion; no tiny head or long neck or max'd-out chest, etc. If they do the Hulk we won't be getting one that looks like a ridiculous steroid experiment gone wrong. I would also love to see comic book versions of the main marvel characters at this size but I'm afraid they would use many of the silly, exaggerated designs of today's characters.

But imagine Disney's Marvel Select figures of classic Thor, Cap and Hawkeye this size! That's a boner I would not be able to hide.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Right?! That freakin' Gamma Rage is great. At the time I'd only heard of people out in Florida being able to get them at a brick and mortor store. And, that was at a theme park; Universal or Disney.

I bought mine on ebay from someone in Canada months after they were released because I had no knowledge that they even existed. I only became aware of them by surfing around on ebay.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Given the size, I hope NECA gives Hulk real pants, they wouldn't be hard to make small enough, they've used cloth on their small scale figures.

That would be sweet! I just hope people don't try undressing him! :slap

:exactly: I too, have faith in NECA! A good example was there 20" Alien a few years back. Some minor assembly with fantastic detail! :wink1:
