HOT TOYS - apparently they don't make toys, NECA does? is that what I'm supposed to get out of that?

If you're seriously asking which figure looks more like the predator in the 1st movie, the NECA 18" is the clear winner. Though they are not really in the same category, the NECA is more a basically articulated statue, whereas the HOT TOYS is more of an expensive, highly articulated collectible doll with lots of accessories. They're both very cool, and I'm not knocking the HT, but if you think it looks more accurate than the NECA product we're discussing in this thread, then I'm gonna have to imply that it is you who may be smokin da craaack.

I love my HTs predator and 1:6 scale is my personal favourite but this NECA predator is CLEARLY more accurate and impressive looking.
If only the HTs looked as accurate as NECAs...

Plus its not like this is all just coming from out & out NECA fanboys - sure we've had one or two - but theres also been enthusiastic HT collectors feeling the same way about this NECA sculpt.

Sigh... Everytime neca release a 1/4 photo, a debate of Neca or Hot toys surely becomes the focus, instead of discussing how to improve this 1/4, people are argueing which company release better predator doll or toys, I think this is really pointless. I think this Neca 1/4 actual product will be an amazing figure, but this is 1/4 not 1/6.
And I hope Neca should release more 1/4 to pair up with him, especially P2 and Alan Dutch or even Billy.

Not trying to add too the drama.But we need to be more pacific with the word NECA.You people mean the accurate 18" line.The berserkers paint up on the 7" look flat out stupid.And the hot toys figures are really models.The companys name has a toy in it.
Not attacking anybody here but the first 18" ever made by them and everyone starts to flip out on one another as read on this site,as always.

Indeedio. Remember the time when all we had for predators, aliens and terminators were the kenner lines. We're totally spoilt for choice these days. And now Enterbay is getting in on the Terminator act - maybe they'll go into Alien and Predator too....though they've never done creatures before have they?

Agreed ,except 7" figures.I cant do it anymore.There so terrible i let my 3 year old have them.I figured to save money stick to whats good.Which hands down 80 bones for this figure is amazing.

The question is not "should i buy one" it's "should i buy all 3"

We all need at least one ..they are not expensive.

Okay i've took the dive and pre ordered this thing at Forbidden Planet, got the open mandibles/mouthed one. If by some stupid reason the paint apps do fail badly then i'll cancel my preorder...am sure more in hand pics will arrive soon and then we can make a better decision on to pre order it or not ! This will be my first proper Predator figure (half of my McFarlane AVP figs are broken and stashed away). Am looking forward to the release of this one and will be following this post closely !!! C'mon NECA don't let me down !

Wow. Every time a new pic is released you say the same thing. You're a broken record dude, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is bored to tears of reading the same thing from you? We get it, you don't think it'll live up to the hype. End of story. I'll probably get scorned for singling you out, but is there a way to mute/hide posts from individuals? Anybody know?

I'm still waiting for in hand pics because i've been collecting NECA since they first began. And about 80% of their figures have awful caked up pain apps. I would have to through figure after figure to find one.


And I wouldnt have said anything if you guys would stop attacking every other Predator figure.....

Just irks me. Hot Toys is great, and maybe this will be too.

Seems to be the same amount, but I can easily work with that. I actually thought the poseability on the 7" line was great. The only thing they could do to improve would be to give us ball-jointed hips and perhaps a ball-jointed waist. Either way, there's more than enough here for me.

I see what you mean man, but I have more faith in them because supposedly we have seen actual retail pieces; or so I interpreted it.

Yep. I don't think NECA's put up quite as many updates for older pieces (like the infamous Stuntman Mike). Maybe they're doing this now to convince everyone who's on the fence. And by doubling price and limiting the ES, hopefully this means the figure really will look like the latest update.

I don't think the paintjob is anywhere close to the retail price.

I think the paint aps on my bust are excellent, although in saying
that i have seen some that are a bit plain looking.
I've been asked in the past if mine was re-painted, it has not.
