Ah, I miss the good old days of playing with my cheaper plastic toys, especially my dinosaurs

I still have them bro! But then again I am only 17, so it wasn't that long ago, not trying to say you're old or anything, just making the assumption you are older than myself.

That looks awesome! It reminds me of the Jurassic Park T-Rex I have in my closet. Mine is no where near this good of condition, it has been played with heavily,

I dunno, I'd say there is a pretty considerable differance between futzing or posing and "playing".

Sitting, looking at a pic and getting frustrated trying to tuck a pant leg into a boot, and pretending they are talking to each other with little voices your doing while you move them all around are two differant things.

I remember the massive excitement about those JP toys, before the internet, so you'd go to the store not knowing if you'd find anything or what you'd find. I had the brown striped T-rex for the first film, the Triceratops, the orangey velociraptor, the frilled dilophosaurus, the rubber dilophosaurus, the young T-rex and the Stegosaurus. Didn't get any humans or vehicles unfortunately. I remember being equally excited about the Lost World toys but somehow I don't think I actually got any from that film.

Yeah, when I was a kid I was a huge dinosaur nut, and the only toys I had for a long time were those smithsonian replica figures. Then JP1 came out and it was like I was in heaven.

Realistic sculpting and real-feel skin dinosaurs? Check!

Dino-damage and human gore features? Check!

Humans with guns and vehicles vs. dinosaurs? Check!

I remember my dad painting my wall to look like the gates to the park and we drew and painted in the dinosaurs in their own paddocks within the gate.

And that visitor's center playset is still awesome. I bought like 10 Raptors with my allowance and had 'em attack the playset en masse!

This is probably a dumb question and it may be somewhere deep in this thread but, does anyone know if they will carry this at Toys R Us? I noticed that around my area they tend to get a lot of the alien predator figures from NECA. Since I recently got back into this hobby I did not see if they actually had the 18" Alien when it was released.(At the moment they have the new classic alien predator 2 pack)

I am certain no one probably knows this but...figured id ask anyway. I kinda want to see one in person before I decide to purchase and sadly around my area, we do not have shops that carry Predator/alien type things...or anything cool for that matter.

I'm going to say probably not. The production run numbers for it are pretty small, so I can't see it getting a big distribution like that. More than likely online or specialty/comic shops are your best bet.

I don't think they even got the 18" Alien when that came out, and that was a very wide release in comparison.

Do you have any idea about the number runs for each version? I noticed preorder on one of the websites that the open mouthed version is already sold out, was hoping to pick that one up. May have to just take the chance, preorder one and hope for the best since my city that I live in is lame as hell.

I'm pretty sure it was 5,000 of each version, but I'm not postive. I'm sure someone else will correct me on that if i'm wrong.
