NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

I love the little snarl they gave the Alien this time around. It makes him look so much more menacing than the original version they had.

I wasn't totally happy with the pose I had last night so I just gave him a new one. This one is more more simple and really shows off how intimidating he can be standing up straight while looking down. I also reposed the Deacon as I've literally had him crouching since day one. He looks cool standing up too.

Yeah, they have a ball and socket joint (as opposed to a insert molded joint) at the ankle.

NECA used to deserve their bad rap for fragile figures but the plastic/resin quality is definitely improving. They're still a little stiff right out of the package most times; DO NOT force the joint, grab a hair dryer or run the stuck joints under hot/boiling water for about 60 secs to soften the plastic (so it doesn't break from being brittle). The joint ought to move smoothly after that.

NECA is about all I really collect at this point and I haven't broken a figure in like a year and a half. I can take a tiny bit of fragility when considering the insanely cool crap we're getting at that price point.

Is it a swivel socket like the elbows
or a straight up ball & socket, where it can pivot anywhere without the need to position axles?

I went to Toy r us yesterday and there was nothing there .I hate my toy r us , they rarely have any predators or alien and if they do its a case and gone.I am going to get the new alien 2.o for sure though, great pictures made me really want this guy

The legs do seem a bit far apart in that frontal shot, but I suppose that's down to the new pelvis and articulation.
