Welp, it uh... it arrived.



Sending it back for a refund and possible exchange. If that doesn't work, I'll try hunting for this in person.

On a positive note, the sculpt and paint look fantastic. The usual brittle, hard, fiberglass-like plastic they use miffs me, but that's to be expected. I'd be singing this figure's praises were it not for the QC issues it has.

It's not perfect, but it's the best NECA's done. Also kills Sideshow's latest offerings, at least in terms of evoking the feel of the design.

...good lord, my figure needs dental surgery and I'm defending NECA. Sailing in uncharted waters here.

narrow head, massive face, puffin beak. they will never go anywhere anymore, mainly because people say "if you don't like my figure you don't like aliens". i wouldn't care if Kyle didn't give us those beautiful A2 warriors and queen. he's so talented, but looks like he's not interested in A1.

i wonder how people who don't see it distinct their relatives from other people.

I think it's the best big chap to date. The lips make it very unique. And accurate. This is the alien in front of lambert.

Yeah just look at the size of it. Power loader is cool though. But I'd give it up for the big chap if I had a choice.

I think this 1/4 big chap is simply great!
Best A1 figure to date, no doubt. Even compared with those statues, I think only sano's can top it but those are still not accurate, no mention two HCG life size busts which are supposed to be a cast of original props, turned out to be lame.

Medicom is good for its price. But if you are looking for those inaccuracy parts, still tons of them.
Besides they did use whole bunch of various head props for the alien itself, so it makes everything to be more difficult to judge.

I'm getting more frustrated with the idea of owning this figure as time passes. I can't shake the feeling that even if I get one that is truly pristine, sooner or later an arm will fall right off. And upon close inspection I'll find that, due to the cheap nature of the plastic they use, it won't be a clean break; the joint will be in several shard-like pieces.

the poor, poor quality and detail of that figure kept me away from purchasing it, but head profile is so beautiful compared to what SS, HT and now Neca did.
