Cool! I have found that they seem to be having problems accepting the code on Google Chrome - so if you have problems, try using a different browser. But, does seem to be working for NECA figures. Just got a couple of Deluxe Pacific Rim figs for my son :)

Here's more Ripley pics! I know Ripley's smart gun is modified but I hope Vasquez and Drake's smart gun looks better that this.

Hmm. Yep...straight repaint with a scarf. I wish they had put in the effort to trick out the gun a little. Maybe glue a few more together more like her original kenner debacle.

The smartgun does look decent enough that I Can't wait for Vaz! (and hopefully drake).

The most minor of nitpicks about the smartgun though..
-Gap is a big wide between the trigger cable cover and the rear (probably modeled after the 'restored' prop store smartgun).
-Counterweight where the arm will connect is really undersized, but it may simply be missing (they didnt include the arm, so maybe that is part of the arm on the final version).

I wonder how much modifying they did with Ripleys SG compared to what they will pack in with Vasquez? I need to get a better look at it but there's something about the smartgun I'm not digging in the photos. Right now I plan on getting just 1 and most likely just leave it in the package but come 4/26 when all the mayhem and excitement starts I may get a 2nd to open.

When they said a "modified" smartgun for Ripley, I was hoping that meant adding extra parts. Clearly they went the opposite direction. The only thing they modded was excluding parts. (like the arm and previously mentioned counterweight under the barrel removal access latch).

I would like to see the other side and the view from up top. The 'in package' view from up top looks fairly normal. I believe the reason it looks off is that it is simply missing that extra bulk that the arm and chest plate provide. I think it will look good when reunited with its core components.

Of course anything is better than the GI Joe Iron grenadier smart gun I had previously been trying to modify!

Knowing NECA, no modifications will be made for Vasquez, but here is hoping I am wrong.
Yea, that's what I'm thinking but the cool thing is if they don't re-tweak it for Vas I'll have fun customizing it.

That gun looks like ass. :lol

You guys are gonna have to enlighten me here...
What is the primary complaint? That it doesn't look like the Kenner Ripley gun, or are you claiming the gun is so far from being an M56 Smartgun that it is "ass".

Sure the trigger block is a little big, leading to that large gap between the trigger cable cover and main body. But overall the proportions and details look solid to me.

What is the first thing you intend to 'fix'?

And I'll be coming to you for tips!

I'm hoping to have my Apone figure almost done this weekend, or done enough to warrant some pics.

By customizing it I mean adding some cables and little things like that - LOL. Funny you mentioned Apone because I'm getting my custom Apone from the Reverend today along with a new Aliens dio he made me. I'm already in Aliens day mode and have a bunch of stuff from Neca being delivered next week. Really looking forward to Tuesday.

I don't think it looks like ass but it does look a little off. I'm definitely not complaining and I know at this scale the details are harder to create. I just need to get a better look at it, The only real customizing I would do to it would try to find some small cables or wires. Maybe because I'm used to seeing it with the full harness & arm that's what makes it look off to me?

Yeah, I agree. On Ripley here it is strikingly bare. No doubt.

However I am positive when Vaz has it, with the arm, vest, cables and all that jazz, it will be damn good. Was surprised to see such instant criticism.

Mine really wasn't to bash the way it looked just to say something looked off to me. It will be very interesting to see how they do the arm and connections to the gun and Vas, I bet it was a tricky thing for them to do.

Ah, fair enough everyone. I was assuming people had a problem with the sculpt itself and not simply critiquing what is missing.

And as for what is missing, thanks Reinhardt but I am well aware!
I scratch built an arm to support my airsoft M56 very recently. The minute details are more than a little obsession of mine.

You scratch built something like that, told us about it, and did NOT post pics?! Pics! We need pics of this awesomeness!
