Got wave 1 of the Cinemachines today and as mentioned previously the derelict is basically plastic but the die cast comes in to play on the space jockey and is really prevalent on the APC & dropship in a big way. A nice wave and worth it for the price but a little smaller than the Galoob APC & Dropship from back in the day. Paint is good except my dropship had some sloppy paint, overall impressive but as also mentioned previously the stand for the derelict is bad, even worse than the stand for the queen so I'm not even going to use the stand. I put the derelict on an old McFarlane Alien base without the egg to give it the terrain of LV-426 feel as much as possible.

I'll definitely get wave 2 but may pass on the Hadley tractor.

It seems like the APC & dropship are mostly diecast - mostly! I'm no expert but you can feel the difference when you pick up the 2 of them and the space jockey. The APC, Dropship and SJ feel really solid and like they are built to last. The derelict is a different beast and probably doesn't need to be diecast due to the design so I would give them all a thumbs up - the SJ is huge compared to the other 3 in the wave though.

Derelict does look pretty good on that base, Staps. I may steel that idea. I have had pretty good luck with clear stands, but something about it just doesn't look right unless its grounded!

I broke down and ordered Ripley from TRU.com. As much as I was underwhelmed by it, I just got the feeling it is easier to buy it now with free shipping than risk it growing on me and having to track it down on the secondary market in 6 months...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your latest acquisition. I have mine PO'd from Hobby Galaxy and am looking forward to receiving them. I am relieved the quality is decent.

Go for it! The clear stand it comes with is really scary, it's basically a rotating needle like end that inserts into the bottom of the derelict and I have no faith that thing will not break within the first couple days of using it. I'm happy with the wave and glad I got them but I could see some not liking them as much.

Newt looks good, can't wait to see her next to Ripley for a size comparison. I can't wait to see Vas and really excited to see what surprises are in store for us today.

Anybody hear anything on what the figure in the Loot Crate is?

She does look amazing just on that pic alone, but given how small she must be compared to the adults in the line I guess she must be coming with either a few accessories or is a pack in with another figure. I mean, they gave us the torn apart Bishop but at least packed him in with an egg and facehugger to make it a bit more worth it.
