I'm betting for sure we'll see Drake. If we get more than one then I think we could see Goreman or Dietrich.

All the Alien designs suck, from 1979 to 2017. H.R. Giger (RIP) was a sick ****. Xenomorphs are stupid with their rubber looking string bean bodies and big ole' **** heads. The NECA figures of them are junk.

Considering his quotes regarding the 'lost wave' from Prometheus, it seems highly unlikely. Paraphrasing loosely, he called the 'lost wave' a "Favor to the fans". He implied they wont make any money on it and pre-order numbers of the 'lost wave' prove that despite all the 'demand', no one actually buys the human figures.

The creatures make them their money. Non-iconic humans just don't (and even the iconic ones are like pulling teeth with those guys to take the risk).
Has he looked at the secondary market prices for the Marines? :lol

No, by the time Cameron arrived, there was the derelict, the space jockey, the eggs, the facehugger, the chest burster, the acid blood, the company, the androids, etc etc.
You're confusing "mythos" with set-dressing. The "Cthulhu mythos" isn't so named because H.P. Lovecraft once wrote a short story called "The Call of Cthulhu," but rather because of the immense number of stories that share connecting fibres with it.

Cameron only added the bug element that ultimately was the downfall of the franchise.
The "downfall of the franchise" was the neurotic fixation upon Ellen Ripley as the lynchpin of the entire universe that developed somewhere after the Gibson script for Alien 3 was rejected.

Not only that he got us one of the ugliest designs for the Alien in the whole franchise.
By that logic, the so-called "Big Chap" is the second-ugliest xeno design in the franchise. :rotfl

The alien was clearly the farthest thing from a bug, it has more in comon with a sabana predator than with any bug, Idk what sort of statement Scott has made to contradict what the movie clearly depicts.
It looks like a bug, it acts like a bug, Scott called it a bug, and at one point, the original costume was even supposed to be inhabited by actual bugs. These are the facts, Zi-Zi.

Cameron made a cool action flick, fair enough, one that undermined everything the Alien is supposed to be in my mind, but cool nonetheless.
Fixed.

I know I'm in the minority since most people like Aliens over Alien.

This forum has given me the opposite impression if anything.
That's the nature of the internet for you. It's a bit of an echo chamber.

I wouldnt say that at all. I feel I encounter far more original Alien purists than die hard 'Aliens' fans like myself. While I am most def in the Aliens camp, I can appreciate the argument Alien fans have. I disagree with the extremes they often go to often outright attacking 'Aliens'/Cameron, but I can appreciate the core principle behind their love of a truly unique and mysterious creature.

On that front, Giger was the architect of the mysterious life forms and all that was implied in their backstory comes largely from his designs. Ridley made a great movie, but the creatures were the stars. Perhaps fear of staying faithful to Giger's creatures runs the risk of staying in his shadow. Every director since, INCLUDING Ridley himself has tried to inject their own spin and make their own imprint on that universe, and I'm not sure they should be faulted for it. Today we have Ridley himself going from original champion to perhaps the greatest offender of all with 2 movies done and more on the way with the primary goal of over explaining everything (and inconsistently with the original material many would argue).

Accepting that no one is innocent and nothing is pure, I don't find much value in the attacking the creative teams of the non-favored films.
This drive to provide a concrete origin story for the xenos, jockeys etc, is actually one of the few things that I like about Scott's recent output, if only because it very effectively sweeps the rug out from under this idea that some fans have that the xenomorphs are these awe-inspiring mystery beings beyond human comprehension.

*(unless of course that film killed off beloved characters off-screen in the first 5 minutes in a lazy effort to cleanse the pallet for their cobbled together story. From directors to the writers and on down to the guy who served the sandwiches at break time, it is perfectly OK to bash them mercilessly)
Amen to that.

Make more Marines.

There were two aliens in the movie. Propobly one of them had the different shoulder than the second one.

This seems like a spoiler people would get all bent out of shape over. It doesn't bother me personally, but I toyed with posting that bit of info in a spoiler tag until I saw your post. :lol

Anyways, as mentioned above, I studied both Aliens quite meticulously, as well as one can in a theater their first showing, and did not see the shoulder tubes, or the veins. I can excuse the veins because the movie is dark and hard to see fine details. Also, I hope the back tubes are made of super soft rubber. Because it looked as if the tubes just bend as the alien crawls between floors, up and down access ladders.

Since Drake is pretty much a sure thing to get down the road I actually hope we are getting these two soon. Dietrich would be an interesting inclusion because not only is she a female marine but also a medic, something you do not see often given in action figure lines. And as for Gorman you can have the option of swap out heads for one bandaged and one with the marine hat and APC headgear.

The only marine I could see us NOT getting at all once the line ends is Apone. They have been asked time and time again about him but they always say there are too many road blocks to getting him made.

And as before, if we get any more human characters from any of the other films I am hoping we get Clemens or Dillon from Alien 3 or Parker and Brett two pack from Alien. If they ever revisit Isolation I hope we get a Working Joe android or that android that end up helping Amanda towards the end.

I'm not going to be upset if we never get an official Apone. I've put together a custom one, and there are plenty of parts exist to make a custom one. The only hard part about making him is he'll never be fully screen accurate since all of the current helmets have a helmet band.
I'm not sure why Neca is so convinced only the creatures sell, I've always seen the marines sell out faster than the creatures at my local Toys R Us stores and comic shops.

well they took to heart what i said, and i said "i don't collect humans" :lecture

Loved the movie, so sad / disappointed that the figures got ****ed over though from pre-final designs...

I'll do a post on what I mean - and i'm sure those who have already seen the movie can spot the inaccuracies in Neca's figures compared to the movie designs.

Not just you. Sadly I have come to realize Randy may be right. Someone did an informal poll on an alien fan facebook group recently that started with something along the lines of "Am I the only one that collects toys of just the creatures? The humans don't interest me" (paraphrasing loosely).
I was surprised to see the agreement at about a rate of 10:1 from the riff-raff chiming in.

On this forum, I think we have more dedicated collectors that are quite vocal about it, but the silent majority of "Johnny and Jill Alien fans" truly may not care for humans. Sad really.

I know these were just revealed, but those anyone know when these go up for sale?

And then there's this

And then there's issues with the main xeno as well.... dammit!

Oh well they are not as bad as I initially thought. Nothing some sculpey can't fix, I guess.

In general the colouring looks off, and the fake blood sucks.
