Stickman wow that's a lot of Apes! Were you sad to let some of them go?

Ryan, yes and no. I had more than I could display long term, they took up too space. Until Angel gave us open mouthed gorillas we were pretty much stuck with the one gorilla sculpt SS gave us. I truly enjoy the scale of these Neca figures, and they photograph well.

Ok. Ebay is a little to costly right now, does anyone have a few loose or carded Gorilla Soldiers? Preferably from Series 1.

I agree, ebay and Amazon are out of control. I saw an auction for a ver.1 gorilla selling for $725.00. What the? I hope you find one Jayrod!

For March 8th, I found a Books A Million thats currently stacked with Series 1 minus Gorilla Soldier. I'll be making a pit stop there for a Cornellias for a Ceasar custom.

Any discount on prices?

Very true about the SS Apes having the same sculpt but still having an Ape Army must of been cool but I truly enjoy the Neca figures too. I'm getting new shelving soon for my Neca Apes and other Neca figures along with some of my older Sideshow pieces to display. I can't wait to display my Apes correctly. As of now they just sit on my desk bunched up.

Awesome pics thanks Ryan, Aldo looks great! So I finally got my beyer classic show jumping horse in today and here's some pics to check it out here's a before shot with the gorilla soldier
Here is after, I painted black on the hair and legs and then used felt to make the sleeping bag. I then used Lego backpacks that I painted and used for the saddle bags so here is the final result.
So what do you guys think? These I currently for sale at Wal-Mart.com for 18.99.

...Still, having an Ape Army must of been cool...

It was! If they had loose joints however, they would shelf dive, taking many innocent apes with them causing breaks at the hip joint, not cool.

Unfortunately, I haven't been at SDCC since 2011. I will not be going again this year.

Do you have to attend to get a Con Exclusive?

Matt, Wow! They look better than I imagined. I wish all 4 legs were on the ground, I know when they are in motion that is never the case. I noticed the feet of the apes are not in the stirrup. Are the apes too big? Also, what scale is the horse, 1:9, or 1:12th?

Stickman that's always a bum! My old Sideshow Figures always take a shelf dive! Loose joints suck and that happens often if the figures have joints like that. I also wish there was more of a close up of Aldo. Matt the horse looks great! Still looks a bit small though. What's the scale?

Hey guys, the horse scale is 1:12 so it is a tad bit small, however it looks great also sticks the feet do fit in the stirrups the only thing is they are short so I need to cut the strap and make a New one that hangs a bit lower.

It says 1:12 scale, 16cm tall by 28cm long, made by CollectA. I'll post pics once it arrives and I have a rider saddled up.

Yes, I agree. Cut the strap and drop the stirrup. I'm thinking the Breyer 1:9 scale will be perfect for the 8" gorillas. Horse, bridle, and saddle can get a little pricey, but the apes look good on them so can be worth it.

Sweet horse booshman yeah mine is 1:12 scale so it will pry have the same look. Where did you purchase it btw and what was the price? I just ordered 5 more of the beyer horses I really was happy with the one I got. I'm planning on doing a shot in my backyard in a few weeks with my army a March thru the forbbidian zone. Also I order some jewelry parts I'm going to attempt to make a custom bugle. I just need to make a rifle pouch for the horse. Has anyone made one here or have a idea on how to make one?

Mine is $23 including delivery from taobao. I'm sure about the saddle and extras yet, gonna check out the toy markets and see what I can find. If worst comes to worst I'll make a saddle out of Aves.

That horse looks like a Lusitano Mare. I believe the Gorillas used Thoroughbreds. Booshman, if you want you can check Breyers under 1:12 accessories and I think they have Bridles and saddles sold separately. If I find something I will post a link.
