Thanks guys! I believe my current Neca POTA count is as follows:

25 Gorilla Soldiers ver. 1, would be 26 but I gave 1 away as a gift, I opened 4, so 21 MIB
4 Dr. Z MIB, 1 opened
4 Cornelius MIB, 1 opened
5 Zira MIB, will open 1
1 Ursus MIB, 1 opened
2 Dr. Z ver.2 MIB, Will get another to open after he goes on sale
10 Gorilla 2Pack MIB, 1 opened

I would like to get the Mego wagon and catapult and see how they look with this scale.

Eventually I hope to get a few horses, but am waiting to see what you guys use. So far Breyers, Toybiz LOTR, and CollectA. The Breyers Show Jumping horse seems to be the best deal, as it comes with saddle, and bridle. I want to use a Quarter horse/Thoroughbred for the gorillas. I will get a white Appaloosa, or maybe a Grey Selle for Urko.

Neca has since added 23 more gorillas to their Amazon page for $18.99 each for anyone that needs to raise an army. Post if you buy any.

Nice sticks! Your 1 up on me on the gorillas and I to have 4 opened and the rest in card. Also I love my beyer horse I ordered 5 more and got free shipping.I hope on 3/8 to grab some more zira and cornelius's.

Nice Stick! I just bought another Cornelius and finally Zira! Will have to go check the Gorilla's out but want to save cash for Ape Day... Damn Stick you made me break...

Haha, Yeah sorry about that guys! I almost gave up on finding singles of Cornelius, Zira, and Gorilla Soldier, especially at $18.99. I'm glad Neca is selling direct. It's nice to pay manufacturer suggested retail cost over 3rd party price gouging retailers, and/or ebay sellers. I like the one stop shopping ability, and its always an extra bonus when you can buy everything you want and pay minimal on shipping. Maybe everyone should buy through Neca's Amazon account? That way Neca can see first hand the numbers of sales for their POTA line. Buy, Buy, BUY!
I would once again like to create a scene like this, but this time using all my Neca apes.

Stick I'm glad you directed me to there Amazon account. I'm always buying from there so I'll keep an eye out for more stuff! I have to agree. Paying 3rd party sucks. The price I paid for a second Cornelius and First Zira was great. I love that photo stick! That Sideshow set up is just awesome. Definitely can't wait to see the Neca set up from you! I'm planning on getting new shelving for my Apes. The desk doesn't cut it.

Wow sticks that diorama is amazing!!! How did you make it? Also do you have a album posted anywhere withh all you collection and dioramas?

I think I was able to make my photobucket library public, let me know if it works, or doesn't. Just click on any of my pictures in this post, I think that is how it works. Also, if you buy any apes, post here!

Yeah I'm with Matt I would love to see your collection Stick! Any chance of making a Collection Thread?

I think all you have to do is click on the picture I posted above and it should take you to my photobucket page, there you can see a lot of my photos of my collections. Let me know what you like.

Amazing sticks. I like the Uranus speech scene you got. Also liked zaius on the beach tied up. I didn't get a chance to browse the whole album but very impressive. Did you make custom diorama of ape city??? And dis you build it outside in a garden? Everything looked awesome. Kinda a shame you sold off a lot of your sideshow figs they are Awesome. I never collected those figures. How many different characters did they make from the pota films and what was the original retail when they were sold?

Sticks, your 1:6 apes just show what a tremendous error Neca amde by not including that scale in their lines.
I don't know who Uranus is in Planet of the Apes, but your dios always ROCK!

Stickman you have an amazing collection and so photogenic you are! A lot of great old pieces and a lot of new ones too. Love it all Sticks!

Why would NECA make 1:6 scale Apes when they don't produce that scale of figures for ANY of their lines... even there successful ones. As anyone can plainly see, that scale is just not part of their business plan. As a company, they do quite well in servicing the needs of the LEGIONS of 6" - 7' figure collectors. That is their niche. They leave the 1:6 scale to other companies that have already committed themselves to that scale.

Which is probably why they blocked you and your rantings. You were pestering them to do something they don't have the license to do, nor the interest in manufacturing. I can see pestering Hot Toys and Sideshow to make more 1:6 Apes (or any other smaller companies like Asmus or Threezero) because that scale is their forte. You might as well pester NECA to make Lego compatible constructions sets for Planet of the Apes while you are at it. Or die cast cars. It's just not what NECA makes.

And now, NECA is discovering the same fact that both Sideshow and Hot Toys already know. The Ape collecting community struggles to support an ongoing figure line. Period. Whatever the sales numbers are, it's simply not enough. It is a sad thing to state out loud but it is the unfortunate truth.

Your are absolutely right protozauis about ape figures no being a highly popular item. However NECA does specialize in making figures that no other company's do. If you look at it star wars will always dominate the action figure world no matter How many Bob's fetts or clone troopers are made that are the exact same figure but different card they will sell.. Look at the great movies that toy lines. Don't do well Indiana jones, pirates of the carribean etc...Star wars as much as I love! I feel like star wars mechadise is just ran down people's throat!!! Its getting to the point that there's so much of it that it's not even really worth much " excluding" the original figs. Pota merchandise is rare so any opportunity I get to collect or buy I jump on it!!! What do you guys think? Also I meant ursus in my last post LOL.

This is 100% correct. You hit the tee. :clap

Hi Matt, first off thank you. I made a custom Ape City back in 2008, for SideShow's FIGURE IT OUT contest. I was awarded SS' Premium Format Exclusive Dr. Zaius figure with a signed letter by Mat Falls who sculpted most of the apes. It was built in my living room, and took up almost the entire room. I'm not sad that I sold off my collection, I am very happy however to have owned that many great apes. I would much rather have my collection out and have the ability to enjoy them, than have them in a box, in the dark, doing nothing. That is why I enjoy Neca's Ape line. I still have a complete set of SS' Apes with a few doubles still MIB, as well as 2 Soldiers, 1 Captain, and Ursus by Hot Toys. I also bought the Retro Mego POTA sets offered a few years ago and recently added Neca's 8" Taylor to that collection, and will add the gorilla when he is released.

Thank you General! I miss talking Apes with you, and all the ideas we had for another short film.

I truly feel that Neca would be more successful with this line selling direct and cutting their numbers. Unfortunately the Ape line is going to suffer because it is not selling well in Asia, truly a shame. I don't think POTA was ever popular in Asia. Star Wars on the other hand is a different monster and like you stated has over saturated the market. Although I may buy a few select obscure OT figures, nothing Star Wars has value for me. I know I can sell my SideShow Mutant Jailer for some good change, but I only have 1 left and aim to keep him.

Thank you Ryan. When I am up and walking again, I will love to take some more shots, and it would be great to build another Ape City.
