Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

I've heard rumours that there may yet be items to be shown before TF ends...anyone else?

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

@Elder_Predator2: look at the pics again. the joints are there, they're just not as distracting as the ones on ht.

regarding my request raising the price, i can only say... pat yourself on the back, captain obvious. it's also obvious that it's a miracle a sculpt this good would cost only 15 bucks, but they could pull it off, right?

if the sculpt is this good, it'd be a shame to have the paintjob ruin it. that's my point. jack up the price a bit, skimp on the other series, whatever... just dont let the paint does a disservice to the sculpt.
Please, could you go into a Microsoft paint program and show me where the elbow shoulder and other joints are? I really am having trouble seeing them. Also, it seems you already know the answer to your request. Maybe you don't want to accept that answer though, but you know they will be made like every other Predator NECA has made.

EDIT: In fact, I already went into a paint program and circled where Figures.com said there would be joints. Please tell me if you see joints in the cirles. Thank you.

I. Ball jointed Shoulder?
II. Left Elbow?
III. Right Elbow
IV. "V" Crotch? Maybe, or maybe just a seam used to assemble his legs tot eh body.
V. Swivel thigh?
VI. Knee Joint?

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

I know this is off topic (the last 10+ pages have been off topic because this is meant to be about Predator 3 movie figures) but what if hot toys comes out with a Predator 3 version? Hmmm....muscle suit and better sculpt....there headsculpts have been getting much more realistic everytime !!!

Dunno what the problem is? I think the first post sets the tone and clearly states that this thread is for all three Predator films.
+ the link (not working?) mentioned NECA doing figures from all three Predator films. First post as follows:
https://www.figures.com/forums/news/10207-new-predator-movie-action-figures-announced.html

Jungle Hunter and City Hunter to be at Toyfair, with new Predators to be unveiled closer to the film's release. Discuss. I am totally stoked.

Jungle Hunter (P1) and City Hunter (P2) to be at Toyfair, with new Predators (P3 if you will? Since the title is PREDATORS) to be unveiled closer to the film's release (which is 7/7/2010). + there wouldn't be anything to discuss, if we had waited for NECA PREDATORS figures?

You can't see what's NOT there. Obviously. Everyone knows the joints aren't integrated into that prototype.....Eveyone but that guy.

Nice presentation BTW Seth! :rotfl

If it looks anything like this in hand, and is 14"-18" tall....I'm sold. It looks like this, and the Revoltech are in my future......

Thanks, I spent 5 good minutes on it. :lol

I forgot about the Revoltech one. I am quite excited about these Figures. I think Greyback looks awesome and Jungle Hunter is just freaking perfect.

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

Guys, if ever something at this site could be called toys, it's these figures, they're not worth getting all worked up over. They're as high end as toys can get before you start branching into the Sideshow-HT market, but they're still toys, $15, sitting on pegs in Toys R Us, there are limits to how nice these things will be because of what they are and who they're sold to. Yes, Kyle has done an amazing job with sculpting and probably done the most accurrate physical deption of the these Predators of anyone, but he's done that for a company that makes lower end products and we won't get something in our hands that completely lives up to what we've seen this week at Toy Fair. The 7 inch figures will look great, be some of the best Predator figures made, but they won't look AS nice as these 2 up, hand painted prototypes. They might do a 12" or 18" version, and for what they cost they'll look great, but still won't live up to these 2 ups. It seems like a lot of folks interested in these figures may not be big NECA collectors and come in here with Hot Toys expectations for a NECA product, and you really need to check those ideas at the door. These will be kickass figures but if you expect exactly what you see to be what you'll end up with in your hands you're going to be dissappointed.

I'm really looking forward to the Revoltech Predator and Alien. These NECA Preds look very promising, but I'm taking a wait and see attitude.

Very, Very well put Maulfan :clap

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

As said these look superb for the price range. Cant really see anyone expecting HT level of detail with these prices.
I paid 25USD for '12" Neca Terminator 2 - T-800 Pescadero escape'-figure shipped to Finland from USA! and for that price I think it does look more than great.

As do the NECA AVP2 Wolf Predator figures...

The low-price products from Neca are often more Accurate and have better likeness then the high-price products from Sideshow and Hot Toys, and this is the most important point.

fits well to the subject (this is also my opinion):

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

Does anyone have comparison pics of the two-up wolf predators from a previous toy fair and the actual production figure? That would help people understand what to expect from these new predator figures.

I'm interested in this as well. I know there was a rumor we might see a partial sculpt of another Pred figure.

I know this is off topic (the last 10+ pages have been off topic because this is meant to be about Predator 3 movie figures) but what if hot toys comes out with a Predator 3 version? Hmmm....muscle suit and better sculpt....there headsculpts have been getting much more realistic everytime !!!

The title says "PREDATOR MOVIE" figures...NOT "PREDATORS MOVIE" figures smart guy.

So, this thread is for ALL of the movies.

The earliest pic I found was on Dan's site
blog_neca_wolf_masked.jpg

https://www.predatorstuff.com/2007/11/02/first-photos-of-the-neca-avp-r-wolf-predator-masked-edition-starting-to-trickle-in/

Has Neca ever even released a pic of a 2 UP before? I think that's where people's confusion is coming in

Re: NECA: New PREDATOR movie figures announced

When I posted this thread, it was meant to mean new figures from the Predator movies from NECA. As in the Jungle and City Yautja, and the new Predators from Nimrod Antal's film.

I wish Kyle would drop in and let us know what the story is...imagine NECA showed a Queen on the last day. Complete wishful thinking.

I have a big collection of NECA figures, many from a while ago and a lot of recent ones. The older ones are like McF nerd-hummels or glorified 6-7" scale statues with minimal cut joints while the newer ones have very good articulation. I hope the Predator figures follow the latter.

As for paint, I think NECA have been improving a lot in recent years, so I have some faith.

There's a 2up Terminator, I hope there's one for this as well.

Here's where I was initially going hmmm...

Q: 1.Will you guys be showing the main Predator from Predator 2 at Toyfair?

2.The T-1000 looks great. Any word on a motorcycle cop version?

3.Any new Alien news?

A: P2 hasn't been sculpted yet and I hope to start it soon.

Hopefully you'll get more later.

Hopefully more Alien stuff to still come later.

So these figures don't have joints but cuts to clarify. Just like the McFarlane ones ? Its kinda off putting to have cuts instead of joints cause when you rotate a part then it sticks out and you can clearly see where it has been rotated or moved from its original pose. Good example is the netting. If you rotate a part then the netting will loose its pattern. I know its nit picking but I never liked how McFarlane figures were built in a pre made pose and then have cuts in it for you to pose. It ruins the figure seeing exposed cuts like this. Again reading other ppls opinions like MaulFans frm pg. 37 brings you back to reality. Its only a show piece, it looks best when its posed as it comes in the box and thats it. If thats all ur after then its great but if your collecting fully poseable 12" from Sideshow/Medicom or Hot Toys then I wouldnt bother. I think I'll stick to either buying a Predator 3(if released) or Predator 1 version from Hot Toys.

Not very good pics, but here...

NECA comes close proto-production, but the proto paint apps just have the benefit of time, care, and attention to detail that underpaid factory workers aren't going to give you.
