I actually enjoy the 7" figures, both in prototype and final forms. I'm not sure where all the hate is coming from in this thread.

There is no hate but disappointment.
The prototypes look fantastic.

I see them and want them.
Exactly.

But the end product is completely different.
Sure the end product can never be as good as the prototype.
I know that.

But the differences are so huge.

Everywhere there are deviations.
Painjob, accessories, armor, etc.

That makes me sad.
And it's sad because tankmans art deserves more.

Well I'm still excited for the 7" lost. Wouldn't let some useless internet wanking take that away from me. :lol

Can't wait to stumble across these guys in Toys-R-Us someday. Honestly, they look like great little action figures, and I'm just happy they're even being made at all. (same goes for the Freddy line)

:lol thanks man

Believe you me it's always a hit to the sculptor to see your 13inch figure get shrunk down. That's why I love it when we take the stuff up to 19 inches. HT sculptors are lucky because their stuff comes out so much like the proto. Still though some fans can only afford the smaller figures and that's where we come in. The 7 inch line will still be fun and hopefully some of it might end up at 19inches. I'd love that big time. In any event I always get a casting of the original. Just wish I had time to paint the stuff though.

I love your work, Tankman. I just wish Predator 7" toys were around when I was 9 or 10 yrs old, as I remember so many times playing with G.I. Joes vs. whatever toy I could find that would very vaguely resemble the Predator. Finding such a Predator substitute was virtually impossible back then, so I had to rely on my imagination a lot. Man, that would have been awesome to have an actual licensed figure back then. Nowadays though, I just enjoy having your Predators on my desk and hanging out on my bar. :wave

The Freddy stuff is great especially part 2. I'd hope we'd put that one out at 18 inches. Freddy didn't lose much being shrunk down. The Preds have so much more going on though and it's tough to get them to look great.

I've been waiting for this 19 inch Predator since I saw the movie. I had the 18 inch Alien in 1979 and after seeing movies like Terminator and Predator I always thought why not cool toys of these guys like the Alien. It took many years but at last it's happing. I still feel like that 17 year old kid back in 87 and getting to be the guy that got to design and sculpt this stuff is so very cool. It's cool how it feels like 1987 is back and Predator is such a classic and I think it will be popular for decades to come. The last two years have been the best of times for us at NECA because were doing so many things from the 80ies that we love so much.

Really can't wait for those & hope we get at least a few waves of Freddies. Yours are by far the best Freddy sculpts I've seen.

the p2 figs look okay i guess...i think they're not great because of the glossy wet look paint job to them...

we really, really need 18 inch Queen Alien, come on tankman, please!

or at least in 8 inch, but please please neca make some 18 inch queen please

the Winston 1:4 scale maquette is over 4ft tall and wide. and it has metal supports inside to keep it from collapsing under its own mass. NECA is not gonna make that.

Tankman, hopefully coming City Hunter, Elder, and some T-800 in 18 "also out.

What is with a trophy wall in 7 "?

Can not you try the 7 "figures in another factory making with better processing and Paint Job(the Big Problem of 7" Figures).

The T-800 faces look so dead, and the Elder are some errors.

NECA has already switched to a new factory.

How about you wait until the new figures come out before you start your whining again. :cuckoo:

The factories have us by the balls. It's by far the hardest thing when making these figures is to get good stuff out of China. Even with two of our sculptors going over there it's so tough and very frustrating.
We do want to make the trophy wall and hopefully it'll happen.
I'd love to see Arnold make the leap up tp 18 inches.
