Be careful listening to the mormon, guys. The magical underpants tell him stereo is where it's at. :p

it is a joke though that they aren't offering both in the same set for $200. Thats an outrageous price, IMO.

Its 6 man. SIX!!!! (the seventh left me for lonnie... a sore point so I will speak of it no more) :monkey2

:lol

At least it's an even number so you can get proper balance and mixing.

I inherited a few Beatles LPs in mono. Believe me, go with stereo. The reason purists say mono is because most of their albums were originally recorded in mono and they think that's the way they should be listened to. Same as some purists are moving back to LP. Screw that!

I'll have to check these cds out!

Ween is not caca.

:lecture

Another reason websites are pushing the mono version could be because it's a limited edition and might be alittle more collectible, though unless you're planning on putting it away and never playing it, it won't really go up in value much, if at all.

Anyone getting The Beatles Rockband?

Anyone watch the QVC special devoted to the remasters? I love when they have a host who has absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

Did he happen to mention anything about George Harrison as the founder of the Beatles? :monkey3

I thought that was common knowledge. :lol

There was a QVC host (I don't know what her name is) and Mark Goodman who did the show. A couple of times the woman said that this was the first time in years that these CDs had been remastered, and Goodman had to keep telling her that this was the first time ever that they had been remastered. At one point she held up the booklet for Magical Mystery Tour and was going on about all the artwork and photos that she had never seen before. I only watched about 15 minutes before I had to turn it off.

Doing a little more reading about the differences in the box sets, I see that the mono box will not include Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be since they weren't originally released in mono (the six songs from Yellow Submarine are on other albums). The track listing for Mono Masters is different than Past Masters. There are also no booklets or DVD docs included in the mono box. And the mono discs will not be sold individually.

I remember when QVC did a show when Division Bell was released. Lots of awesome shirts and stuff.
