Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

His point was to buy from TA if he was in a hurry to get the pieces and was tired of waiting for a response. It was cool of him to at least try to help him out.

Exactly PT, heaven forbid we try helping people.

It's at times like this that you really appreciate Doctor Who... one franchise that is never going to be owned by Disney, thank ****.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

If Disney offered the BBC a bunch of cash, they would take it.

SHHHHHH! Don't give anyone any ideas. Though, instead of K-9 we could have Pluto.

Disney is on sci if kick now...

No, it's not.

It is and it isn't: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC

"The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a British public service broadcasting corporation headquartered in London, United Kingdom.[2] It is the largest broadcaster in the world by number of employees, with about 23,000 staff.[3][4][5] Its main responsibility is to provide impartial public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

The BBC is a semi-autonomous public service broadcaster[6] that operates under a Royal Charter[7] and a Licence and Agreement from the Home Secretary.[8] Within the United Kingdom its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee,[9] which is charged to all British households, companies and organisations using any type of equipment to record and/or receive live television broadcasts;[10] the level of the fee is set annually by the British Government and agreed by Parliament.[11]"

No, it really isn't.

Thanks for this.

Doctor Who... created by the British government, owned by the British people. What a great example for the world. Now that Obama's in the process of building an American NHS, maybe in his second term he should create an American version of the BBC, funded by an annual licence fee charged to all American households?

Just thought I'd throw that in there. Obviously, I don't want anyone to think I'm being controversial or anything.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Maybe BC should focus strickly on making the figures and NOT with selling them straight to fans who freak out about everything.

Let companies with an established customer service department and history in fulfilling retail orders deal with that ****.

Not a bad idea. :lecture

Well, that's PBS. You know the same PBS which Romney wants to get rid of....

I just wish Obama really were in the process of creating an NHS, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

That would make a lot of sense.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Let's not forget that a lot of people (including me) have paid a 25 quid deposit - IN MARCH - for the Amy figure. We are not receiving any communication about the figure at all. I find that dissapointing (not annoying), as I thought that the company would be best served by keeping all paying customers in the loop.
I wont (yet), but I am wondering if any deposit payers have requested their monies back.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I don't watch a ton of BBC but do you really find Doctor Who impartial? I find it extraordinarily liberal in terms of social commentary, which IMO may not be the most appropriate use of federal funding.

Personally, I think a government should have ZERO control of the public media as to make sure they don't use it to propagandize. In this day and age do we really need a government to regulate television?

When I was a kid, things like sharing, respecting one another's differences, finding a way to avoid violence, etc. weren't considered partisan. People who suddenly now think they are are very dangerous.

In that sense, Dr. Who is political. Thank God!
