Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Actually, what figures would you guys like to see? My choices:

Deadly Assassin Master:

Or they could could do the Keeper of Traken version in a set with the Melkur, or a Grandfather Clock Tardis! Might be a bit scary for the kids though. It certainly gave me nightmares!

Wirrn:

Not great in motion, but I reckon it would make an ace figure.

Commander Uvanov, continuing the Robots of Death theme:

Original Auton. Still the best!

More childhood nightmares for me. Meglos!

Oh, and they have to do Scaroth - last of the Jagaroth!

Those were just of the top of my head! I hope this line is successful, because I'll be gutted if we don't see at least some of these.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

One more, and then I promise I'll stop spamming the thread.

Sharaz Jek!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Sharaz Jek and Deadly Assassin Master are among my top choices as well. :duff

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Just beautiful.Character are to this scale what Hot Toys are to 1/6.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I'm very, very pleased these have turned out so well and I'm tempted to get extras of all the Doctors to keep MOC.
Here's just a few of the other characters I'd like to see,

4th Doctor in Sherlock Holmes attire from "The Talons Of Weng-Chiang"
4th Doctor in season 18 attire with alternate headsculpts from "The Leisure Hive" and/or "Meglos"
4th Doctor with the hat switched to the serious headsculpt

Sarah Jane Smith from "The Hand Of Fear"
Sarah Jane Smith from "Genesis Of The Daleks"

Leela from "The Face Of Evil"
Leela from "The Talons Of Weng-Chiang"

The Brigadier
Sgt Benton
The Master ( Roger Delgado )
Harry Sullivan
Davros from "Genesis Of The Daleks"
Nyder from "Genesis Of The Daleks"
Solon from "The Brain Of Morbius"
Eldrad 2-pack from "The Hand Of Fear"
Romana I from "The Ribos Operation"
Romana II from "Destiny Of The Daleks"
Sontaran Field Marshal Styre from "The Sontaran Experiment"
Cyber Leader from "Revenge Of The Cybermen"
Cyberman from "Revenge Of The Cybermen"

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I'd gladly buy all your suggestions in a trice.

I still have to pinch myself that there are toys being made of these characters. I mean, I can still remember when you couldn't get Who on video, and all you had were random repeats like the ones they showed between the 4th and 5th doctors, or the Target novels. If I could have bought these in the early 80's, I don't think my 10 year old brain could have handled it!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

sadly CO has said they will not be doing companions. :monkey2

If they did my choices would Adric, Nyssa and Tegan.

Thanks, yours are decent choices too, maybe if Character Options do a boxset with all the Doctors they could also do one with all the Masters.
I'm determined to do my bit to see that this line runs for a while and will be getting at least 1 of everything and multiples of certain figures like the 4th Doctor and the Robot Mummy from wave 2.
It means the Nu-Who line is going to be taking a back seat from now on which will work out OK since I've not enjoyed the majority of the last 2 series and won't want anything else from series 4 once I've got the Sontarans, both Ood and the 10th Doctor with Adipose.
Now Classics wave 1 is starting to show up in stores we should hopefully see some wave 2 protos before long, having just bought The Brain Of Morbius on DVD this past week I can't wait to see how the Morbius Monster turns out and I'm guessing it will come with the brain in the jar as the accessory.

Haha but Romana II was more than a companion, she was a Time Lady. Shouldn't negate her figure status. :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I know Character Options have said they won't be doing any Classic companions but I think that's more of a "we'll wait and see how well the first few waves do first" kind of statement.
I bet if the same question had been asked about the likes of The Editor or Doctor Constantine at the start of the Nu-Who line they would have said the exact same thing.
I think the first Classic companion will be in wave 5 or 6 and will be Sarah Jane.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Bah! The figures won't be in until Friday now. :(

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Is an Earthshock set too much to ask for? :monkey2

Probably at this stage but if the Classic line takes off like the Nu-Who one has I wouldn't rule anything out. It's certainly a set I'd buy.
I had a bit of mixed fortune today as I was able to get the last Sontaran set at my local Argos for £14.99 as I had a £5 gift voucher. So far so good.
The only thing was I got the set home and upon opening it I discovered the communicator wasn't stuck to the Trooper's belt properly and fell/broke off before I even removed the twisties and I couldn't repair it due to the chunk of glue round the peg of the communicator that fits in the hole on the belt.
I then discovered several paint defects on General Skorrs body that weren't noticeable from the packaging so after my initial excitement at getting the set I'm now a bit pissed off.
I'll be able to get a refund OK but it's just my luck that I get a dodgy set and I think in future I'll wait until I can pick one from the shelves at Woolworths or TRU so I can make doubly sure everything is OK.
QC issues with my set aside all 4 figures are excellent and IMO some of the best Nu-Who figures so far and I never thought I'd include a Donna Noble figure in such a statement.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

That's a shame about the QC issues. Still, great figures eh? I love the articulation on the Sontarans (even though they can't turn their potato heads).

I think CO have nailed all the main monsters now. The Dalek and Cyberman figures are also spot on.

Yeah it's annoying but it's not put me off getting an issue free replacement set as the figures are really, really good, the Sontarans are my favorite Nu-Who aliens so far and it bodes extremely well for any Classic versions should CO decide to make them.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

My twin brother picked up the 2 SDCC exclusives at Newbury Comics today.
The Time Crash set and the 9th Doctor from Fathers Day.
He was pretty excited.

My Time Crash set should be here soon and I've not decided whether I want the Father's Day 9th Doctor figure or not.
Nice sig by the way,one of the best quotes from the best one off episode in Nu-Who's existence.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

The Classics wave 2 Build A Figure is,

Sutekh from "The Pyramids Of Mars"

Which will go very nicely with the Robot Mummy figure that's part of the regular wave 2 lineup.

Classics wave 3 is,

2nd Doctor
3rd Doctor
Special Weapons Dalek
The TARDIS ( Sylvester McCoy era )---not sure if it's the console or the police box
BESSIE!!!
The WHOMOBILE!!!!

No wave 3 Build A Figure has been confirmed yet but some other Classic figures planned are a 2-pack with the 3rd Doctor and a Silurian and another Dalek.

Nu-Who fans will be pleased to hear that the first new 12" figures for ages will be Donna Noble and an all new sculpt of a Cyberman from this years Christmas Special.
There's set to be a wave of figures from each of the 4 specials next year and some more characters from previous series will be made though it's not yet confirmed who they will be.
And finally a Deluxe Vespiform will be included in a set from the Agatha Christie episode.

It's nice to hear that a couple of new 12" figures are on their way but for me that news pales into insignificance next to the Classic announcements.
With the announcement of vehicles in only the 3rd wave I think my prediction for at least 1 Classic companion by wave 5 or 6 is on course, especially now all but the 1st Doctor have been confirmed for release.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

The Classic Series 3 news and the Sutekh are not true. Its absolutely 100% false. :lecture
